Mass Effect (2007)

Is exploring planets worth it.
After finishing Andromeda I wanted to replay the originals as FemShep before replying Andromeda as Sara.

As I was playing today I started wondering how big of an impact driving to all the beacons on a planet was or if it was worth it at all.

I've always done it in the past but I'm wondering if I should go for the objective and than leave. If I DoD that would it be a big difference.

A minor sidequest in ME3 relies on the completion of certain sidequest/collection quests in ME1. Is it worth it? I'm a completionist so, yeees, I do like clearing the map, but there are definitely more minerals/asari writing/etc etc to complete the collection quests without finding them all.

It's completely optional. Little sidequests sometimes are mentioned in ME2/ME3 and IIRC only Citadel assignments have consequences. As for exploration you mainly get money (which is always nice) per collectibles and you can also find some very good gear in the crates. Is it worth it for the trilogy experience? I would say, in part. Most of the stuff is definitely filler but there are some nice quests that provide good role-playing opportunities.

Doing all the side missions carries over to the next games, I suggest you do all of them or as many of them as you can because they'll help you a lot in the next games and the side-stories are very interesting.

At this point all I have left is the prothean data discs, signs of battle and mineral scanning. I also have the pinnicle station stuff that appeared after I visited it. I haven't done virmire yet so there's more stuff left to unlock.

My wife challenged me to complete all 4 games in a year so I had to accept it.

Pinnacle Station and collectibles don't worth it to waste time on it. Just go straight to Virmire.

I have a question about this stuff. I did a couple of run throughs to get my ability and support achievements. During which, I got 100% completion of all minerals, insignias, data discs, medallions, and matriarch writings as well as getting top gear and Level 60. After doing this, I am doing skim run throughs on hardcore and insanity difficulties without any side quests.

If I do this, will that treat the following games in the series as if I have never done them? Or will it remember my earlier completions?

If you're a completetionist like me, you will have to whether you like it or not :(

If you don't want to waste your time (you did it once after all), you can import the save into ME2 and then change the valuables via Save Editor so that the game will acknowledge that you have completed these side quests.
