Pinncale Station help

I recently got ME 1 for PC and am doing my first playthrough. I left the citadel and did Bring down the sky. I then went to Pinnacle Station and am doing the missions there. I had no issues with the Capture missions and beat the records. However, now I am trying to beat the Volcanic Hunt mission and can only get to around 25 or so before I literally run out of enemies to kill (the others spawn too far away) and I lose. I looked and I only get about 1 second per enemy at that point, which makes it pretty much impossible for me to get to the 44 required to beat the record. How am I supposed to do it?

try pistol marksman is basically a Mg42 and few mods is my Mg42+sniper accurracy (last time i remenber)

My problem isn't killing them fast enough, it's that I only get about 1 second per kill after about 15 or so and they literally don't spawn fast (or close) enough to keep that going, so I don't know how to do it.

I am almost wondering if it is a bug.

The missions on PS are much easier with better weapons. I think it is not a good idea to do them right at the start of the game. You can return later to finnish them off. Also the real profit from PS is available to you only once you have lots of credits. The end of the game was almost too easy for me because of PS and millions of credits I had at the end.

i ran the missions in PS with the best weapons you could get and when them you don't really need to aim just spray and you will take out plenty of targets at a decent speed but also make sire you have your squadmates set up with the best weapons also.
