Can't do ♥♥♥♥ with an adept
Hi

I tried the game (origin version but still) with an adept, on hard, thinking it would be fun. It's not, at all. I read online after that an adept was the broken class of ME, so I feel like I'm stupid or something. My biotic power aren't doing any damage, so are my pistol (and because of it I can't touch anything who isn't close to me).

What am I doing wrong ?

ME1 classes are crap for the most part, you are better off just sticking with soldier, going through the game and then importing your save to ME2 and changing the class to adept.

Ok then, look like I'm going to start again with something else or go to mass effect 2 already. I didn't really like the first one but I don't want to go with made up choice in the second game

primarily the reason you are going through the trilogy is for the storyline, for your shepard, changing classes between games don't really make any difference.

You can get the Genesis DLC for Mass Effect 2 (or just get the ME2 DLC bundle, it has all the DLC). It lets you choose the more important decisions.

The more important decisions?

So it doesn't help you with Tali's Geth data that impacts on Freedon's progress on meeting her again?

http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Adept. I beat the game on Insanity as an Adept. The class can do damage but you're not the tank.

Your best squad is Tali and Ashley to perfectly balance the biotic/tech/combat tree.
You're main powers you want to level are Singularity/Lift/Pistol/Barrier/Warp (along with your Ccharm/Intimate/Spectre traning/Class Training.)

I believe that Warp needs to be leveled as does throw for you to unlock Lift and Singularity. This gives you a basic verson of Warp and Throw which can come in handy if Lift is on cooldown and a Krogan is running at you. Also getting a basic level of shield recharge from Basic Armor can be helpful if Barrier is on cooldown and your shields go down.

Also after Luna I normally pick nemesis for the advanded Warp/Lift abitlies.

Pistols are NOT that bad if you put in points to inprove them, Marksman is amazing ability where i can run at my target as an Adept and gun them down pretty quick, but with the cooldown of guns you're best bet is to use the mods that are heat sinks like Frictionless Materials. When I get the spectre pistol I use two and it also cancles out the gun over heating. For ammo I use hammerhead rounds before I get them I use any non overheat ammo with poison.

Just remember you need cover, you need to stay behind your team and back then up. Also in ME1 you can use biotics on shielded people do you can use throw at someone who is to close. Trap a ton of people in a singularity and shoot them down.
Spam barrier to keep yourself alive.

Its a bit of a different playstyle and it could not be for you but I can say hands down Adepts are not useless at all

A roundabout way of saying no, totally needless mind you.

a rotation of the class skills would probably help more than a general descripter of the class from your point of view. if you have a set rotation and then something you do to mutiply the effect of targets, it could very much help the OP.

Adept is all about combos.

I do open up most fights with singularity. Use Tali for over load then marksman to take down as many targets in the singularity.

Lift is my secondary CC when singularity ends. It works well on single targets too. Throw on anything too close and singularity and lift are on cool down

I use warp situationaly mostly on Krogans to stop they're health regent or when the pistol over heats.

Saddly the worst thing to fight is defence turrets you can't CC them. You need tali to disable and Ashley to kill them.

I use barrier and sheild boost mostly when I see my shields are down and too save my ass lol.

Yet the only thing I have for a rotation would be open up with singularity and then marksman's. I honestly wish I could record a video and shoe the OP what I'm talking about but I know I can't :(

You can't combo in the first Mass Effect. Combos for biotic explosions started in ME2 and got super great in ME3

Totally needless to ask in the first place, when you can just Google this easily.

if all you are going to do is argue pointlessly then i got other things to do.

i'm not interested in what i can or can't do, i asked politely off you and could of been answered with a simple "no" instead. that's my final word on the subject.

That would be interesting, getting all the detail in a video on how to use the adept, perhaps it might not be as useless as i first thought.

I've always thought Adept was one of the most OP classes in the Mass Effect trilogy. Just need someone in the party who can take shields down fast.

I'm not sure if they're any good you tube videos on adepts personally I know that my computer can't handle running and recording. The best I could do is play ME on my PS3 and record the TV.

Adepts are very powerful if used right.

me and you both, i quit and started new after leaving the citadel because they are trash until later game (mabye? idk really)

i decided to go with vanguard this time, but they suck as well. as a matter of fact, the gun play sucks all around so i'm pretty stuck as if i even want to continue playing it. i wanted to do another trilogy run but i think my plans have been dashed lol.

do you mean later on in the game? i can kinda see in late game that maybe when you have the pistol and armor perks, the spectre perks, and at least all of the biotic powers at second level it could turn out to not be aids.
