Wrex Family Armor bug?

I accidentally found the site where the armor is, killed everybody and opened the crate before I got the mission from Wrex.

I went back to the site with Wrex and he said "This is the place" when we went in, but nothing happened after that. There's a ! on the map where the armor is still. I talked to him back on the Normandy and he didn't say anything about the armor.

Is there any way to complete the mission at this point, aside from reloading and earlier save?

I've never got this problem, have you tried talking too Wrex after getting the armor where he is on the ship?
