All enemies 1-hit me?

So, I finished Eden Prime and the first visit on citadel. Now, I found the planet to rescue Liara, but every enemy after the rover-part just 1-hits me and my squad as well. I finished the game once, right after release and I remember, that the fights were not THAT hard. I face like 6 or 7 rocket launcher geths and 3 to 4 snipers at once and they are all around me, so the cover-system is useless, especially since rockets kill me through cover apparently. Is this a bug? Because it seems like, they are still equipped to fight a rover with all those rockets.

I just want to play it for the story and play through all 3 parts again. If there is no mod or something, that fixes the balance, I think I might just skip it and start with Mass Effect 2.

Maybe you levelled up more before going there last time? Or maybe you've chosen another difficulty?

If nothing other works, you can change difficulty whenever you want, a few times in the past I lowered it until an especially frustrating fight was over.

If it's the bit before entering the mines (and before the armature) it can be a bit a killzone. My advice is to not run into the trench but wait at first few covers and let them come to you in smaller groups. Sniper rifle helps here if avaiable.

As for rocket-shooting geth, retreat to get a better shot at them. As for the snipers, take them out with sniper rifles (difficult if you're not soldier/infiltrator), or with powers such as overload. If you don't have any of that, it'll be difficult. Try waiting until the sniper shot, then run to the next cover and wait again until it's shot.
