I thought it was going smoothly until I got an error. Well, gotta fix that, the game launches but it crashes. It's a bit of an improvement nonetheless.
Works just fine by now, it may have been a first-run crash

I've had some trouble getting mine to work in w7 also. Tried reinstalling, checking files etc etc but the only thing that works is windowed+4:3 aspect ratio, and even then adjusting the resolution crashes the game.

I am able to load the game and play in 4:3 windowed but if i change res, crash and reload it' loads with a black screen, like no models or textures are loading.

win10 Home, no problem with playing in ME1

I had some issues running it with it when I tried to complete a task "Besieged Base", where on the last terrorist kill the game would just freeze and sometimes gives an error, that it ran out of Virtual Memory.
I ran the game with minimum settings (just in case) and used the compatibility mode, where I used Windows Vista SP2,as a setting, and it worked fine. Its intresting, that in the other parts of the game, I can run max settings with no issues what so ever.
