Mirror's Edge

Mirror's Edge

I'd rather get it for my xbox360 to be honest
I'm sure it's a decent game, but sitting at my desk to play this game with my cabled 360 pad is kind of meh... when i could be sitting on my couch enjoying it with a wireless controller and on a bigger screen.

I guess the point im trying to make is that the pc version offers no improvement over the console version on this occasion.

If you're a PC gamer and you still have it hooked up to a computer monitor you're doing it wrong.
Ur the 1 doin it wrong, PCs r ment to b played on a monitor, and the image on a tv doesnt look anywhere near as nice unless u hav crt tv, if u hav flat panel the image is fuzzy, if u cant see that then u need to get ur eyes tested!

As for connecting PC to TV with HDMI i tried it once, when an old monitor broke down and i was waiting for a new one to arrive, i wasnt that happy with it. The games generally looked alright but windows, google and Word files looked kind of bad.

for one change your resolution for the tv, it doesn't have to be 1080 for the tv just cause its hooked up, newer tvs support other resolutions. that being said, on my tv and or poorly written html sites i sometimes have to do the old ctrl + (+ or -) to increase page layout/font size to make it more legible. also dont complain, search for solutions. if you use a computer to game, then you need to step your game up. your better then console gamers by default:D: i console game too because of friends. but be creative and come up with solutions. for example i use a wireless 360 dongle or receiver for my 360 controllers to game on my couch on steam. its also convenient to watch my video library or stream videos with my computer. you can also set up a dvr system on the pc.

if your a pc user your better than that, be crative and google that sh!t homie. :D:

you sir are wrong, if your tv is fuzzy then its your tv. my led 3d tv looks sharp. plus i can change my tv's resolution. 1080p 3d videos and games look great. and the PR0n i swear that butt touched my nose:D: 3d is super realistic from my comp.

Differences on PC vs Console
Console versions have Achievments, Steam version does not.
PC has pretty PhysX stuff, consoles do not.

Physx is awesome. Maxpayne 3 and Bordaerlands 2 are two titles that come to mind I recently saw good effects in. Im sure there are a lot more though of course.

in my opion i wouldnt play this on a pc unless its powerful enough.... like when glass shatters in this game the game drops from 120 frames to 7 >:/ and i have a i7 2.20 GHz with a radeon 6770 its a hp too so this is when a console will come handy

PC graphics can be adjusted to whatever resolution / graphics quality your card can handle to a point that is. I do not own mirrors edge on pc yet but I am sure you can change a lot of settings. But yes console is fine if you just want to plug in and play right away. But PC lets you tweak a lot of settings.

Radeon cards don't accelerate PhysX so the CPU is handling it. I got a Radeon 7790 and it chugs to a slideshow when glass shatters, even with all settings at their lowest. Too bad, cause I really wanted to see all the flappy banners and stuff.

Yeah I know about the physx thing and radeon cards. I just dont get why they would make the game without the ability to turn off the glass breaking thing to make it run better.

the game ships with a 50 year old version of physx. you need to do some stuff to fix it, i never bothered tbh
i just turned it off

edit: i just looked. it makes a huge improvment. and its easy to do, just look o nthe steam guides for this game and you will find it

Turn off PhysX you dingus. They're cool effects, but the real PC improvements to the game is the lower input lag, higher framerate, higher resolution and generally higher art assets. It makes the game go from beautiful to timelessly gorgeous - all these things you still get with an AMD card.

I thought the same, but then I bought a HDMI cable and USB extension cable for my computer to my television set (and sold both my consoles shortly after). It is great to play in the living room, but it is even greater to play with the best graphics in the living room. I only paid about €25,- for the setup (I already had a controller specifically for my computer) and get a better experience out of it.
