It's a lot more realistic than the majority of comparable titles in that it actually includes your own body in the field of view. It doesn't exaggerate your abilities quite as much as most comparable titles. Graphically, I don't think realistic was ever the aim, believable probably was.
The reasons there aren't much in the way of shadows is because the computer version is an upgraded console port. So, because the console couldn't handle it, the shadows aren't there. But it's a bit late to have a talk concerning graphics, our view is skewed toward today's standard, not 2005s.
Even nicer looking lips on Faith. :)
But this is now a old game.
