Nvidia PhysX extreme lag problem
Hello.
I'm struggling with quite unusual problem which I can not find the answer for in any other topic about PhysX problems. When I'm in one of the missions, and break any glass-wall/window then the game slows down immediately.
Other users suggest to delete PhysX dll. files inside "binares" folder of the game (PhysXCore.dll , PhysXDevice.dll and PhysXLocal folder) but the game won't never start for me (nothing is happening except steam pops up a message that game is launching and it disappear).
I also tried to replace old files with new PhysX dll.'s from it's original installation directory into /binaries/ but nothing happens anyway. I have Nvidia GTX470 graphics card and newest PhysX drivers installed (downloaded from Nvidias website). Furthermore i have switched PhysX to use GPU in Nvidia Control Panel.

Thank you in advance for your answer :)

I'm guessing you have an ATi / AMD video card. Physx is an nVidia only feature, so if you don't have an nVidia card, you're better of with Physx disabled in graphic settings (game restart required). Even high end AMD cards have trouble rendering Physx objects in this game.

No offence, but you should read what I wrote more carefully. I wrote clearly that I have " Nvidia GTX470 graphics card" so I should be able to get these stuff to work. Problem is that deleting those files prevents the game from launching and updating core PhysX drivers does not seem to solve anything either. Well it's kind of weird issue cause anybody else is saying that deletion of dll's solves the problem but obviously not in my case.

Any ideas?

3.Do NOT delete physXextensions.dll

Make sure you only deleted physxcore.dll and physxdevice.dll from the "..\Mirrors Edge\Binaries" directory, and not PhysXExtensions.dll. Also, the only .dll I have in "..\Mirrors Edge\Binaries\PhysXLocal" is PhysXLoader.dll and my game runs fine.

You should always have physx set to auto-select in my experience.
From my experience, you shold just delete the files ACE said up there. When you lauch your game again, it will download the correct ones, and you'll be able to play fine

PhysX is an old and buggy piece of crap. Never have I had it work flawlessly in a game for me. Also, if the fix isn't working for you then you may want to open the nvidia control panel and make sure the physx device isn't set to your cpu or something. Otherwise just turn it off. It's not worth the trouble.

Gotta love necrobumps...
I tried this but now my game won't start
You can just disable the Phsx in the video setup. :)

If you still want to play this game I may have a fix, I'll post it when I get home.
In PhysxLocal you'll find the PhysXLoader.dll, copy that, and paste it into \SteamApps\common\mirrors edge\Binaries. that is the only way mine ran
