Mirror's Edge

Does this require Origin?
Just wondering, since I know the game was released before EA created Origin.

No I don't think so. When Origin was released, the new games exclusive to Origin are not available on Steam. Since this came out before Origin started, this doesn't require Origin to play. Hope it helped :)

Nope, just bought and installed it, played for a while, no sign of Origin whatsoever. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if it's possible to activate it on Origin?

Awesome, thanks.

People ACTUALLY use Origin? O_o

The last time I heard anything Origin related was something like "whats this crap and how do I remove it!?"

Not true at all. Many of them can. I have personally activated Dead Space, Dead Space 2, Dragon Age: Origins and Alice: Madness Returns. That's only a few of the many that can be activated on Origin. Looks like Mirror's Edge can't though, it has no CD key.

Not true for some games. I've bought a few EA games on Steam and they've appeared in my Origin account. Mirror's Edge doesn't though.

I've only used Origin for Crysis 3 (played about 40 hours absurdly fun game), and for what its worth I haven't had problems.

Any EA game that was released after 2009 and have a cd-key can be activated on Origin, regardless where you purchased it. Sadly there's no cd-key for Mirror's Edge here on steam, so valve ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up royally.

Agreed. I have maybe a dozen or so games on Origin (a few of them I bought on Steam), never had any issues with it either. I wouldn't use it as a marketplace, they just aren't competitive enough with their pricing, but the client itself is fine.
No. The base game does not need Origin. However, if you want DLC it is in NO WAY COMPATIBLE with the Steam version of the base game. I spent money on it, only to be disappointed that neither EA or Valve could help me. :/ If you want DLC, go to Origin.

In some cases, Origin will Auto Activate games that are running. You have to have Origin open for that. Although I'm fairly sure Mirror's Edge isn't one of those games. If you want, download ME on Origin, that way you can get the DLC as well

no, but you need origin for the map pack

This now is on steam and requires Origin, the Origin Launcher, an EA account to link with steam, and the EA launcher. I'm planning to ask for a refund, it's just not worth it.
