Overheating Computer
After playing the game for around 30 mins or so, it completely overheats and powers off. I then have to wait ANOTHER half hour or so until it will turn back on. I don't know why. I meet the maximum requirments for the game and play it on minimum. The game plays beautifully, no FPS drops or anything. Anyone got any ideas?
My specs: AMD Quad-Core Processor A 8-4500M with Turbo Core Tech up to 2.80 GHz
AMD Radeon HD 7640G with 512 MB Graphics System Memory
4 GB DDR3 Memory

Check your computer's cooling systems. Make sure your fans are working and you've installed your heatsinks and thermal compound properly. Get a hardware monitoring program (I like MSI Afterburner + RTSS) and watch your GPU's temperature while in-game.

Thanks, I'll definetly try that. How can I check if the heatsinks and thermal compound are properly installed?

Well, you can leave the hardware monitor running in the background when you're not doing anything, and if you read a temperature that's higher than, say 35 degrees C, you'll want to check out the cooling systems. I see you're using a laptop. How long have you had it for?

I recommend using MSI Afterburner to increase the GPU fan speeds under "Automatic fan control properties".

Yes, another vote vor dusting here. I do it regularly every few months and it makes a 20°C difference.

The controls doesn't seem to work for laptop graphics, at least from what I've seen.

Turn off the hardware physics engine or something. That helped a lot and I can't notice much of a difference.

Most probably your PSU. What power rating is it? It's probably pushing your PSU over it's limit and cutting out as your components are getting hotter and working harder. I had a similar problem myself on a 550w PSU - upgraded to a tasty 1000w and that probem is long gone.

I took it apart, cleaned it out with a bottle of air and now it works just fine! I also got MSI Afterburner, whitch really helped me figure out what was wrong. Thanks everyone!
