Could somebody please let me know if key/mouse remapping is possible (even if editing a settings file).
If so could somebody please check whether Forward can be remapped to Right Mouse Button.
Thanks in advance,
Greg
If I get an absolute on Forward->RightMouseButton I will definitely purchase.
Otherwise I will not risk adding to a lot of money already wasted on games and devices that are of no use to me.
There are a lot of games that allow full rebinding except navigation on buttons. Quite number of those have settings files for manually overcoming that.
I'll take my chances, this game is too good to pass up.
The key mapper ignores the navigation keys that I require.
The game is hard coded to throw a BaseInput.ini Corrupt error despite the fact that I am giving it perfectly valid UDK key bindings.
I've just had enough!
Any changes I've tried in DefaultInput.ini stop the game from starting by throwing the error...
"The game cannot start.
The file ..\TdGame\Config\DefaultInput.ini is corrupt.
Please run the game installation again to repair the corrupted files."
Do you know of anybody want this game as a gift so I don't feel like I've completely blown my money?
Why post this when there are quite a number of keys that the interface ignores?
Keys that I need in order to play.
Comma, Period are essential, Semicolon and Quote among others are often necessary for the bindings I use on a physically modified (butchered) keyboard.
As I posted, Mirror's Edge throws an error if DefaultInput.ini is altered using these binds, rewrites TdInput.ini for the same/whatever.
I've tried Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator that worked with general programs but not any UDK3 based games that I know of.
That suggests that UDK3 uses DirectInput instead of the Windows Messaging Loop, right?
I tried g-hotkey that launched the game but Mirror's Edge ignored the remaps despite a number of settings as well as turning Steam Overlay off.
The Manual seems quite comprehensive to me so I am quite unsure what I could be doing wrong.
On another post somebody suggested Autohotkey which has something about "never been easier"...how were things in the "Dark Ages"?
All jokes aside I'll embrace whatever complexity if no other choice.
I further butchered a spare keyboard to try another combo (compatible with Mirror's Edge) on a number of games I play well.
Even after significant practice my performance was reduced to around 20-60% despite downgrading from Hard/Normal to Easy on each.
If anyone has any suggestions at all I promise not to bite the hands that feeds me this time.
Does anyone know how I can bind Comma, Period, Semicolon and Quote in order for this game to work for me?
I don't care about the money and just want to start playing.
Thanks in advance,
Regards Greg
