Mirror's Edge

Mirror's Edge

Settings To Play Mirror's Edge in 2020
I've tried all the different fixes proposed here, but these are the ones that allowed me to successfully run the game in Windows 10 x64 as of Aug 2020.

  1. Install the game through Steam
  2. Navigate to \Steam\steamapps\common\mirrors edge\Binaries
  3. Right click MirrorsEdge.exe and set Compatibility Mode to Windows 8
  4. Delete all PhysX .dlls EXCEPT PhysXExtensions.dll
  5. Note: The trick of copying the file out of PhyxXLocal folder to Binaries did not work for me
  6. Install Legacy PhysX https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/physx/physx-9-13-0604-legacy-driver/
  7. Restart PC
  8. Navigate to \Documents\EA Games\Mirror's Edge\TdGame\Config
  9. Open up TdEgine.ini, NOTE the resolution of ResX & ResY, DO NOT edit the .ini file, the game will crash and reset this .ini file to its defaults
  10. Change your desktop resolution to the ResX & ResY values you noted down
  11. Double check the \Binaries folder from above that no other PhysX .dlls are in that folder except for PhysXExtensions.dll
  12. Run the Game
  13. Set your desired resolution in game
  14. BONUS: If your desired resolution is UltraWidscreen (ex. 3440 x 1440) do the following after setting your resolution to 3440 x 1440 and closing the game

  15. Navigate to \Steam\steamapps\common\mirrors edge\TdGame\CookedPC
  16. Open Engine.u in a hex editor and change F3 8E E3 3F to CD 90 18 40
  17. Navigate to \Documents\EA Games\Mirror's Edge\TdGame\Config
  18. Edit TdInput.ini
  19. Add the following line under [Engine.PlayerInput]
  20. Bindings=(Name="F1",Command="FOV 110",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
  21. Press F1 in-game to set the FOV to 110 degrees (change 110 to your desired FOV in TdInput.ini)

Honestly these are some strange ways to make Mirror's Edge run. I've done multiple factory resets and never had to do much to get the game to run on Windows 10. Only needed to disable physX and I was good to go.

No need to change your desktop resolution when you can change the .ini in documents. Just don't forget to make it read only after making changes to it
