Doesn't Launch!

I bought Mirror's Edge last week, but since installing it has not so much as even launched, at all, not even the splash screen. It doesnt even show up in task manager when I hit play, literally nothing happens. I have done quite a bit of digging around the intenet and come across many others with similar problems, but none of the solutions that worked for them did for me. I far exceed the system recomendations with all relevent drivers up to date (running windows 8.1) and have varified the game cache and all files appear to be intact.

Here is where I believe the problem lies though, where if I go into the Binaries folder for the game and try to open the game from the MirrorsEdge.exe file, I get this error message: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."

If anyone can help I would be very greatful, just dying to play it.

Have you got a list of what you've tried? Wouldn't want to offer suggestions that you've probably already done.

Holy fking moly it works! I had exactly the same problem and I tried many different things like chaning resy/x and so on and nothing worked but this tip made my game finally start.

I have tried copying the physxloader.dll into the binaries folder, I have changed my screen resolution, I have manually installed all the extra programs in the M.E. folder, I have reinstalled and verified the the game cache, reinstalled the physx driver, probably some thing(s) im forgetting.
I will try everything in the link Mcfishy when I get the chance, unfortunately in the middle of finals and going into exams so cant spend as much time on this as I would like at the moment

where do you go to change resolution if you don't mind me asking

I changed my computer's screen res in control panel to the default resx set in the DefaultEngine.ini file in Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\mirrors edge\TdGame\Config
