Origin version vs Steam Version
Hi all,

I am going to buy the game in one of both platforms, but I got a little question;
Are steam and origin running the same version of the game, or is any of both more recently updated...?

This version on Steam has no DRM. Thus, it's better by default.

The "pure time trials" maps are the maps that used to be exclusive on ps3 for.. whatever reason :) Also used to be free.

Excellent, purely abstract time-trial maps. Faith dreams, basically.. Probably not worth 10 euro in addition to the full price game. But they're well worth playing. ..at least if you don't need to jump through Origin, or pilfer the content from Origin and fuse it to the Steam version, to get there.

Did you play the Origin version? I just did to confirm my hunch. And nope, I don't see any DRM. The game doesn't even need Origin to run.

You mean, aside from Steam itself?

I have both - no difference other than personal preference, and the fact that there's DLC available for the Origin version. I use the Steam version purely as that's my preferred platform.

Game doesn't need Origin to launch. You can contact EA support and they might help you by manually activating Mirrors Edge on Origin because you have already purchased it for Steam.

Some titles such as BFBC2 support this.

There's a handful of games on both Steam and Origin that don't need the client running to play. Far Cry 2 and Mirror's Edge are 2 examples.

Steam and Origin games have DRM.

"WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I UNINSTALL THE ORIGIN CLIENT?
If you uninstall the Origin client from your computer, you won’t be able to play any games or content downloaded until you reinstall it."

Not all steam or Origin games have DRM thou. I have several on Origin that can be played without Origin running and there are many games on steam that run without the client running as well.
