Hi I am having the same problem. Can't minimize the game or change to another window without crashing it..
Ps: Solved disabling PhysX and also solved the fps drops problems.

there's no way to completely prevent the crashing, unless you play in windowed mode using this mod: https://www.moddb.com/games/mirrors-edge/downloads/windowed-and-fullscreen-mode-option-buttons-mod
