Mirror's Edge 2?
I know this is an old game by today's standards, but why was Mirrors Edge 2 never released on steam?

because Mirrors Edge 2 was never made
if you are talking about cataclysm or whatever that was made by EA and they stopped releasing games on steam all together because they have there own launcher Origin

$$$$$
To translate the above: the only sequel to Mirror's Edge is Mirror's Edge: Catalyst.

It is not, and likely never will be, available on Steam. It may be purchased on EA's Origin service.

ok, so how come Mirror's Edge: Catalyst did not come to Steam?

Cause EA is stupid greedy and really want to push Origin.

Sometime in early 2010, EA fell out with Valve.

If I recall, it had something to do with them wanting a higher percentage of the cut from The Sims 3's Steam release.

Since then, EA has only published their games on Origin - and thus, Mirror's Edge's sequel is only on Origin.
its not a sequel, it started out as a prequel but then became its own story, please don´t lie on the internet
Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is a REBOOT. It is not a sequel or a prequel. There is nowhere in the title a digit to represent a series.

does not matter if I knew what you meant but calling it a sequel is simply a lie
and like I said before lying on the internet is illegal you can´t just do that

Mirror's Edge : Catalyst is the second game in that line up. I know that much because of how the game starts. I've played about 3/4 of he game.

What series is it in, then? The Sims?

Both called Mirror's Edge.
Both developed by DICE.

There are TWO Mirror's Edge games. Catalyst is the second in the series, being released 10 years after the first.

While not story connected, that doesn't mean they're not in the same series.

EDIT: I really don't care about this, argue back if you want but a quick google search proves my point. Go look up the definition of series, even. Unsubbing now.

I suggest you check any of wiki about it before making any statement in the future. ;)

If there is, by any chance, a sequel, it would be for catalyst since it had a cliffhanger in it's ending.

I would assume, however, that a chance for a sequel is minimum due to the fact that the franchise doesn't sells as much as other EA games, which makes it the very bottom on the priority list.

Also, EA by now would make you pay real money just to be able to roll.

for the same reason some games didn't arrive at Steam, like:
Mirror's Edge: Catalyst
Dead Space 3
Mass Effect 3

They were sold exclusively on their platforms at Origin.

Simply cus steam is getting 30% cutt of your sales, as a developer and publisher you are better with your own platform, a lot of puglishers/developers are making their own Platforms and stop selling on steam, 30% is redicilous.
