The core surface ship gameplay is generally great and there's no other game like it.

Unfortunately, aircraft carriers (and hybrids, and to a lesser extent submarines) break the game and make it hard to enjoy at higher tier - especially on Asia server, where CVs played by Chinese sweatlords (who treat the game like Gaokao and prioritise winning at all costs over fun) are almost guaranteed in every battle, and you're entirely at their mercy with zero opportunity for counterplay. When the enemy CV decides your game is over, it's usually over.

Wargaming has recently doubled down on CV's god-like supremacy by deleting DFAA (the primary anti-air consumable), so you can't even cope into semi-defending yourself by playing a supposed "anti-aircraft" ship anymore.

Add to that the continual addition of silly overpowered gimmick ships which delete destroyers in a few seconds, and it's hard to recommend this game to anyone who wants fun strategic gameplay rather than frustration. WG took great core gameplay and have largely ruined it. Maybe they can bring it back in 2027 since they seem to realise the playerbase hates the latest anti-air changes, but I doubt it.

What WG needs to change to fix this game:

1.) Globally nerf all CV plane regeneration and damage-dealing (especially Essex, and including Hildebrand which is essentially a CV and played as such)
2.) Bring back DFAA
3.) Slow down with introducing new tier 10 ships, and stop with the perpetual gimmicks and powercreep e.g. Fuyutsuki, 20 de Julio, Taejong etc
4.) Build more tutorial content into the game and nudge new (as well as experienced but bad) players into at least learning the basics of gameplay

It's getting a bit exessive on the monetization.

The game was great but now that there is so many issues with the game play. Ships cant be seen when they are clearly in thier detection range even when they are busy firing at you. The speed of the guns is getting to a point that you just cant do anything to prevent getting killed. Some Destroyers and Cruisers have less than 5 second reload that does not give any battleship a chance to escape of even have a fair fight as the reload is half a minute. Most battleship shots dont even create half the damage even with a broadside on a cruiser. IT has beciome more of a frustration than enjoyable
