no spore location in regedit

i'm trying to fix the error, as you likely are aware, but the one and only thing that is under the "Electronic Arts" folder is "ea games", which contains the tm folder alone, which itself only has one string value being "(Default)". i have searched and searched both the steam forums and any other site for someone else who also has encountered this and hoping they have a fix, to no avail.

You must first go to your registry by looking for Regedit

From there you'll need to go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

V

SOFTWARE

V

Wow6432Node (it may look different on a 32 bit machine)

V

Electronic Arts

V

SPORE

Now you should see some string values, some will be missing while others will be pointing to the wrong file path. If a file I mention isn't there then simpy create it.

Essentially DataDir should point to your Data folder within Spore. Installoc would point to the aformentioned Spore folder and then you'd create two 32 bit word values by going to edit then new. One should say ReIndexYesOrNo with a value of 0 and another one named InstallCompleted with a value of 1

Now I see the problem a lot of the time is that they're actually pointing to the wrong path as shown below

AppDir = SPORE
DataDir = C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\SPORE\Data\
InstallLoc = C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\SPORE
PlayerDir = My Spore Creations

DataDir and AppDir try to find an Electronic Arts folder and there simply isn't one, instead the file path would most likely look something like this

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Spore\Data

For DataDir and for the Installoc it would simply stop at Spore

If you need further help here is a video I did. DO NOT copy the exact file paths I have as I don't use the same installation path for Steam that you do.

that's what i'm saying, i've read a walkthrough of that, or at least similar worded versions, i could probably recite it from memory.
the reason i'm posting this rather than it being fixed and me playing it right now is, in Electronic Arts is "ea games", which has nothing but the spore(tm) folder.

If you're missing values then you have to create them, I advise trying my friend LordLeeCH's automated Spore registry fix, it usually fixes it but in the case it doesn't it will at least create the files for you then you can go from there.

Whenever I go to the Wow6432Node, it just says Microsoft instead of EA, I have the game installed through steam
