There is something called impossible creatures or something.
I think it had a lion with lobster claws on the box? It was also about making weird creatures, but if you want to make something microscopic and see it evolve to something human-sized I think this is your only option.
There was a thread and a lot of games were posted, but most were made in the 90's and that impossible creatures thing was the only one that seemed reasonably interesting to me.
Actually, Spore isn't very interesting either :P I loved the concept and was very entertained by the game, but biology-wise...
There's very little freedom. Yeah you can chose from eyes/mouth/hands from the most well known animal species, but you can't make anything different then that. Also when it comes to bodies very little variation is possible. You can make it shorter or longer, give it more or less legs, but you can't create a giant snail. Maybe you can make a snake-thing, but it won't be very useful. Speed will be very slow, so it will be hard to keep alive. You can also chose 2,3,4 or more legs, so you can make something funky, but no monstrous centipede. Also no birds... Or sea creatures... (the latter is understandable) also you can't make something that's unlike anything we know. Yeah you can make something that looks very weird, but every part of the body will be inspired by something we already know. You can give the spine a weird twist, but it'll always have a spine.
So you'll probably just make a humanoid creature with hands and feet and eyes, ears and a mouth. Every. Single. Time. You could give it more legs but there's no real benefit. It's just more expensive. Wings have a benefit, so you could make the ugliest dragon ever I guess. But flying is weird too... If I remember correctly it's more like jumping and gliding.
But you can choose wether it eats meat, veggies or both. And you can give it bull-like-features for instance. Yaaay xD
Flow is really unrelated, as it has the evolution aspect but you can't really create anything cool. Impossible Creatures does seem really similar, but with less freedom since, from the screenshots, it looks like I can only mix n' match between species that exist on Earth.
The best way I can think of to say this: Is there any other game that will allow me to build a peen monster and walk around with it?
