Socialization in tribal stage not working

I seem to be unable to start the music minigame in the tribal stage... I'll send all of my instrument players with my shaman over to the other tribe, right click on their shaman, everyone will assemble, the progress bar appears, but then nothing happens. The other tribe just sits there, without requesting any instruments. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Apparently it is a problem with that particular savegame. Weird, I don't know why it's doing it.

That's a known bug. Has been known since 2008. You have to fail the stage and restart it.

I found that it had to do with my shaman getting stuck on an animation, he would repeatedly start/stop the animation whenever I tried to have him do something like fight or socialize. Getting him killed made him go back to normal temporarily when he respawned, which gave me enough time to ally with a tribe, though I had to get him killed several times to get past the stage.

I didn't have to restart all I did was get my chief killed and it worked like a charm once he respawned!
