Buy it on Origin. EA does not support Spore through Steam.

No, not at all. There are ten different archtypes you can reach by playing each stage of SPORE differently, and behaving in different ways/interacting with other species. In Space stage, the goals and things to do are endless-there are practically infinate quesets. I started playing this when I was younger (maybe four years ago, but on aa different platform, therefore it isn't recorded in my SPORE hours) and I still havn't gotten bored. I used to play for hours and soemtimes a day or two without break. Then again, it happens to be my favorite game, so I'm a little bias, but I havn't gotten bored after 4 years, and there are still many things I havn't done, found, or discovered. It goes deeper than it looks and is surprisingly complex. Right now, my goal is to make one species of every philosophy. I havn't finished yet.

This guy may or may not be right, I bought Spore through steam, and then just made an origin account and registered my Spore key to it, allowing me to play online through steam using that origin account, idk if steam keys will still work on origin accounts, the safest thing to do if you REALLY wanna play online is to just go to Origin, but yeah this game is really fun, it's 8 years old and can still be infinitely explored.

For 5 bucks, you can't go wrong. Sure, it's a bit dated. But the strongest part of this game is the creator tool. I had the most fun trying to recreate or design really nice creatures or vehicles with all the different objects, it forces you to think around the corner, to be creative. Something like a horn don't have to be a horn. When you twist and turn the angle, it can something else in terms of looks. Checking out the huge online library of creations by players is fun and inspiring. Some people are extremely good with the tool. So, yeah, if you think it looks fun, go for it.

I played for a while after it was released, and stopped some year or so later. Really, what else is there to do than? :

Do the cell thing that get's repetitive after 10 times. Do the creature stage which gets repetitive after 10 times. Do the tribe thing, civilizaiton, and space. I didn't play very much into space though. What else is there to do than attacking and terraforming stuff?

I'd say nothing unless your imagination gives you ideas.

Life also got repetitive after first 10 days and ♥♥♥♥ me I'm still going strong.

I already played Spore over ~500 hours (but only 100 with steam) and imo it's really fun, especially if you like to create stuff, you should definitely get the Galactic Adventure dlc!
That dlc is like an entire new game, you can create missions for your captain, that captain can also lvl up and equip gear and you can play the adventures of other people.

I would say definitely no at full price. It does get repetitive. The first time or two times, it's pretty fun... Then it's just the same thing each time. Whether you go carnivore, herbivore or omnivore, it doesn't make that much difference, and most of the stages are so lacking in depth, with any interesting concepts not expanded upon to any great extent or substantial flaws which really hinder it. Oh and I know I don't have this game on Steam, but I played it a lot when it came out... Admittedly that was without Galactic Adventures so I don't know if that makes a difference.
