Spore Cannot Connect to Servers?

I bought Spore today, but when I open it and try to play (I don't have a Spore Account, and am totally new to the game) it says it cannot connect to the Spore servers. My internet is working fine, I uninstalled and reinstalled it, and it still won't work. (I'm using a Windows 7 Dell laptop)

have you tryed activating all cd-keys on origin. (that came with the steam versions)
that fixed it for me.

Same problem, except it is activated *both* in Steam and Origin (both accounts are registered for the same e-mail and even with the same nickname, all three games are activated).
Ingame registration form for Spore account creation is just not loading, saying it can't connect to spore.com (Origin credentials also don't work for ingame "login"). There are lots of discussions in the net, most of which consider "ask the EA support".
Support live chat seems to be no more available and I have no any mood to call them via phone (i'm in Ukraine, heya...)
Will play offline for now :) At least, the only thing offline lacks - it doesn't download the creations of other players... Amen.

Is there a guide on how to do this? I'm having the same problem and found my origin key, but I don't get how to set it up through Origin so that my Steam copy can connect.

Spore.com is answering to ping, but not available in my web-browser. The same applies to http://community.spore.com/community/auth/help. I guess there is some kind of problem - at least I had no problems last time I tried... except that is at least a year ago.

Ahh, well, spore.com is just back online. Connection established... xD
