No, you can make them neutral by selecting the green befriending button and clicking on their food storage. If you hover over their food storage, it will show a green present. Click this, while having tribe members selected and they will give the other tribe a present. This costs 10 pieces of food and I suggest you do it fast, so that they won't attack you. No problem!

this only lkasts a short time tyhough, as red will eventually go back red unless totally happy... another thing is the fireworks power if you were a green creature path... it will jump them up to green (only blue left to befriend)
