Delete Save Data?
Can anyone explain how to do this? I've tried validating, I've tried reinstalling, corrupt data persists and causes my game to lock up on launch. Is there some folder somewhere that I'm missing that I need to delete?

If I can't get past this issue, I'm going to have to refund, because this is literally unplayable

did you delete the spore registry files as well? enter "regedit" in the windows search bar and go to HKEY_USERS -> the longer string of numbers without "Classes" at the end -> SOFTWARE -> Wow6432Node -> Electronic Arts -> EA Games -> Spore (tm)

delete everything there and try a fresh install.

Thanks for the reply. EA support closed my ticket about this without bothering to reply. Real nice folks.

So I followed this and once we get to Wow64, the trail ends. My Wow64 only contains "Microsoft", nothing related to Electronic Arts

well, that was the path i saw when i googled for the spore registry, since i know an awful lot of games save there. i didn't have anything there either but i haven't started playing it yet, only setting everything up so i figured that was why. sorry but that's all i got, hope you figure it out.
cheers

If you ever find out, please let me know, cause idk what I'm doing and EA support is closing my tickets without replying

all i can come up with at this point is try installing it in a different folder, on a different drive (heck, use a usb flash drive if you have nothing else) or reinstall your entire operating system. the latter should definitely work but seems a bit of an extreme measure.

as for ea support: try their chat, i hear it's good and gets things done asap. other than that, im afraid it's time to consider a refund.

Thanks for the advice. I'm probably going to try EA support again, but chat this time. I'm just a bit salty as I spent a good long while typing up my experience and issues, only to basically have it all deleted (wish I had saved it to a notepad)

As far as I remember there is a delete button for the planets. This should allow you to reset save files.

Look around for a trashcan icon.

Spore save files are located in AppData\Roaming\Spore\Games

Here's my problem. When my game loads up, it shows the galaxy screen but only shows one planet, the planet is labeled "Corrupt or missing data". The game averages between running 2-5 seconds at this point, before it freezes and then I have to restart my computer. Sometimes I'm quick enough to click delete planet, it then explodes, zooms out, and lo-and-behold, the corrupted planet is still there, and then my game freezes anyway. It refuses to delete

@Fanible
Where would I be likely to find the appdata folder? Is there a typical place, or does it depend on where I installed the game?

You can open it immediately by typing in %appdata% in the Windows search function.
