Random question but do still people play this game? Thought is reinstalling it again and maybe this time actually complete all stages.

New creations are still being uploaded to the Sporepedia on a daily basis.

There's no indicator to show if these were created while playing the game or by using the creators.

Not an update but make an entire new game from the ground up.

I actually decided to play again a week back after years of hiatus and it is still pretty good, to the point I am stuck on it and forget the time. Wish they had included many of the stuff they had not released with the game but otherwise it is still enjoyable. Lots of creativity and the Sporepedia is still being updated with new creations. I love creature stage the most but galactic stage is also great especially when terraforming and going on adventures though a bit difficult at times. You can also create your own adventures and spend time just on the creator alone is fun. It definitely has some replay ability too what with the different archetypes and paths. Like Grochius said, it is a classic and classics always have a special place so it is always something to come back to and enjoy :)

It's an error on Steam end, Origin/GOG/CD Spore can connect fine. To fix it you have to convert your Steam Key to an Origin Key or a CD Key through EA Support
