Off-center mouse inputs after alt-tab?

I've noticed that whenever I play this game and have to alt tab to go check a message on Skype or something, returning to the game causes the game to register all of my mouse inputs as slightly lower than where my mouse is, enough to be annoying. Does anybody else have this issue, and if so, does anybody else know a means of fixing it? The only thing I've found is closing and reopening the game as of yet.

A lot of stuff in Spore is dependent on your desktop resolution and it's old enough it doesn't support modern resolutions.

Lower your desktop resolution to match in-game settings.

Why would they? Spore is 11 years old, the last game update was in 2010, and Maxis was shut down in 2015. And yet, people continue to buy this game. Multiple times, in some cases.

You'd think people wouldn't buy a title with unacceptable, 10-year-old bugs.

My solution was to turn off fullscreen and run it borderless. It's a little weird but modern resolutions seem to not break on alt-tabbing from then on.

If a product sells, customers must find it acceptable as-is.
