Chapter 2 cash register code

I cannot figure out the code for this puzzle. Clue says to add up prices of the two best wines. That doesn't work. A walkthrough gave a different solution and that didn't work either. Could someone explain to me how this puzzle works.

I am having the same issue. The white numbers on the top don't rotate either for me.

Hint: The lever on the right turns in two directions.

Pulling towards you twice resets the cash register, pushing away from you adds the entered price to the total in the display.
The hints:
- The diary on the stool, mentioning an "Everlast" out of stock and the alternative wine
- said alternative (still on the table)
- the price display at the bar
