Are there actually choices?
Like the title says. I'm having enough fun with the combat to keep going either way, but so far there don't actually seem to be any genuine choices in the story. (minor spoilers ahead)
I'm asking because I finished the Black Streets and killed Baraad, only to have everyone at the Shelter explain that doing so was actually stupid and how I should have come back to talk to Minerva first.
Ok, fine. I was only an hour or so into the game, I wanted to see how some different weapons handled anyway, so I tried again, this time intending to actually talk to Minerva first.... only to discover that you literally *can not* do so. So everyone is acting like I made a bad choice when there literally was no choice to make. I've since completed the quest in the bazaar, and again finished it with no apparent part of it where there was any actual choice to make.
So, not looking for spoilers or specific details, but... are there actually choices that effect the story? So far there aren't, that I can see.

Nothing that changes the story. Just the dialogue a little, and minor outcomes of a few quests. The biggest thing is what quests you actually do, for the ending slides.
Ah. Pity, but good to know.

Without spoiling anything by describing specific instances, depending on some of your choices, it will determine if you receive some items, but most importantly, if you will get the "good" or "bad" ending. The endings also tie into two different secret achievements, so if you want both, you will need to do at least two playthroughs.

This is disappointing, especially since in the listed features it says, "Decide the fate of Aphes. Every decision you make in Asterigos matters and will affect the story."

I was in the same situation as the OP. I actually did try to go back before killing Baraad, and couldn't find anything to change the course of events.

Well glad I found out now and didn't buy any DLC. This is an important feature to me. I'll give the game more time, but it feels like a broken promise and I'm disappointed.

I do suggest you change the "Features" you have listed because some people look for that in a game.

I came here with the same question. I think it's 100% reasonable to have the game say: "oh you just killed someone without thinking about it? Are you the good guy?" But then to have no actual way to act morally in that situation just makes the whole thing feel a manufactured "Your Choices Matter, really, look at how we just punished you despite it not being a choice."
