Help with stealth in Crysis?

I have been trying to be stealthy throughout crysis but it really isn't wroking... the silencer still alerts guards. Any advice on how to be stealthy would be greatly appreciated. A alarm goes off when i use strength melee as well.

no matter how silent u r, if a bad guy sees a dead bad guy the alarm will go off. so to avoid that u have to be sure that if u kill someone, they die in a place that nobody else will look.

ur better off enabling quick suite shortcuts to instantly switch to Cloak mode.

Options > Mouse & Keyboard... > enable Suit Shortcuts

Armor = double-tap Backwards key
Cloak = double-tap crouch (CTRL key)
Speed = go forward, double-tap Shift key and keep it pressed
Strenght = double-tap jump (Space key)

But then the best part of the whole game, if ur into stealth stuff, is to get two Dart attachments going (one on each of ur two Rifles).

When you're in close range, your shots (with silencers) can still be heard by nearby enemies. If you wanna use melee attacks without getting noticed, you gotta make sure your enemy is in a blind spot where no one else can see him. Being stealthy is about being patient and striking your enemy one at a time when no one else is looking.

Since you mention alarm, you must be talking about tower guards or in enemy base. To avoid the alarm you gotta sneak up and silently kill the guys in the watch towers first. Do that by climbing the ladder and using your pistol with silencer (I wouldn't recommend a melee attack because they scream like loud ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when you knock'em out). The other alternative is to be about a mile away and snipe down the tower guards from far, far away. But you gotta make sure you get'em with the first shot. That way no one in the enemy territory will hear your gunshot But even this isn't guaranteed to work.

That's just my two cents. I've tried them out and they've worked for me pretty good. This is Crysis, so nothing is 100% guaranteed to work.

Thanks for the advice. I thought it would have been similar to Deus Ex stealth but i was wrong. If i use a machin gun with a silencer and scope to kill enemies from afar would i be caught, providing i shoot them in the head?

according to IceHandz, and i agree, if they hear the shot, then the alarm WILL go off. And when he suggested taking out the Tower guard, he was pointing out that the Tower guard can be killed if nobody hears ur gun shots. And there won't be any alarms set off as a result. But ONLY because when the Tower guard is killed no other bad guys ever see his dead body because it remains up on the tower and total hidden away from site.

Go the two rifles with dart attachments on both route + quickly in and out of cloak mode.
IT IS A TOTAL GAS. i have laughed so hard it made me puke so many times i lost count. lol

-1st u go into cloak mode.
-Then shoot a guy with a dart and ur uncloaked (because u fired a weapon).
-So u quickly go into cloak mode again. (enable the quick switch suit shortcuts i already mentioned so all u have to so is double tap ur crouch key bind.)
-Then switch to ur other rifle because it already has a dart ready to shoot (while the first rifle is still regenerating a dart).
-Then shoot another guy with a dart. (the 1st guys is still asleep for 60 seconds total.)
-go into cloak mode again.
-switch to ur other rifle
-Then shoot another guy with a dart.
-go into cloak mode
-switch to ur other rifle
-shoot another guy with a dart
-go into cloak mode

on and on until as many as 20+ of them are asleep.

then watever u want to dude.
keep it up maybe.
Or, toss a nade on all 20 of them and laugh so hard u puke. LOL
watever u want. i killed large groups of them in so many ways i can't imagine.

The stealth seems too demanding for me. I seem to be noticed with everything I do and there's very little scope for me to have fun. I've only just started the game but it seems very very strict. Not too impressed really.

I stealth to base, then alarm goes off, I usually keep firing / stealthing / firing / stealthing until all are dead.

great way to kill loads of guys with minimal fuss- grab them, unstealth and punch them to kill them (u have to be holding no weap wen u grab them for this to work

(because silencers are for those who feel a need to use guns.)
