yea i knew, i did cancel it on initial, it dident come up for awhile but now outa know where it asks every time on launch lol.. i can play it fine like that its not much of a deal but it is kinda bugy and should be fixed, i been searching the forums seems a quick fix is deleting the installer outa the game folder.

-- and yea i have no idea wtf all that was about, must be that time of the month?

A couple of things you could try:

In the folder Crysis installs to (\Steam\steamapps\common\crysis) delete the Gamespy Comrade folder.

Or

Install it, then remove it manually - Apparently this stops it from popping up again.

valve has no ability to help games besides that of games made by valve to run on someones machine, valve is however the developer and maintainer of steam and all parts of steam including its application deployment system. Crysis being a game not developed by valve but offerd by valve digital distribution platform "steam"; having issue: optional software instalation package always asking to be installed.

it is not my fault idiots like you cannot get games to work on there pc in general, or read the system requirments, or mindlessly install crap software randomly that makes there pc unstable and unable to play said games.

If you have nothing to offer as help on the subject of this topic, why are u trolling it, how old are you, 12.. you know what bro... почему бы вам не ползти обратно в выгребную яму влагалища твою мать породила вам и убить себя

Just find the Gamespy Comrade folder and delete it. It worked for me, as it was annoying to have to cancel every time you launch Crysis. I dunno if it effects multiplayer thou. I bought this game strictly for the single player. Also to possibly melt my ancient PC...lol

Hi
Try using the free program in the link to uninstall the program and then reinstall a fresh copy to see if it helps.

https://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php?AFF=3305&__c=1

I got this from Evga support for a failed driver update. It works.

Why on earth did you revive an 8 year old thread that was totally dead...I mean I've seen some resurrects, but this has to be one of the most bizarre.
