That's not really my point. People here are getting bent out of shape about a 5 machine activation limit, which is pure misinformation, which is being perpetuated by the Steam store itself. I agree that activation limits are a bad thing, and with the increase to 50 activations, they'd be as well removing it altogether, but I'm merely pointing out that the problem isn't as severe as many here are making it out to be. There's a bit of a frenzy being whipped up when there really needn't be.
Hell, my loacal Library has a preventive measure for the DvD's they rent that prevents those that rent them, from copying them, and if they can do it then, these multi-million dollar companies certainly can.
The theory goes that if they can see that they are losing sales because of drm, they will stop using it. We all know that any form of drm is cracked usually within 24 hours of the games release, so securom, rockstar social club, tages, uplay, etc only punish the paying customers.
