Crysis

"Crysis has stopped working" A cure no where to be found.
I have tried so many solutions. I tried the method of downloading the "Bin64" and changing the name of the "Bin32". I have tried the shortcut method by making a shortcut from "Crisis.exe" and adding to the end of the shorcut "-dx9". I also tried reinstalling it. Nothing Works. When I first installed it, it worked and played on hour of it. The next day, it stopped working and gave me the black screen and told me "Crisis has stopped working". For the love of humanity, PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO FIX IT!

Same issue here with Win 7, Service Pack 1, 32-bit. This has been an issue for a long time - it doesn't look like Crysis is optomized at all for the current-day systems (which kinda makes sense, considering when it came out) but it doesn't explain the mixed issues, or the fact that it can run on some 64 bit computers with changes made but can't work on others such as mine or yours.

It really stinks. I tried changing the Compatibility to it and it still fails. The other solution is that others just buy new drivers or Motherboards. I'm not ready to spend more money on a new PC, or upgrading it for that matter.

After I changed compability to Vista SP2 and that seems to work for me.

I'm on win 8.1 though

The compability tab did not show when right-clicking crysis.exe so had to use Troubleshoot compability in the right-click menu instead. That seems to have worked, no crashes so far.

If you belive the internet then the game works bad on AMD FX CPUs (i am currently using an FX8530). When i Install the game everything works out well but when i lauch crysis i get to some kind of wired black screen that works for around 6 seconds and then it is telling me that crysis is not working anymore. in the edge aruond the screen i can see that i am using "17300... ...built 3th of march 2014 7:30 pm. -> so the game is not installed, i cant even find it ind the libarys or in x86. even when it had been installed. (sorry for the bad english D:)

Hi I hated Steam for this, but finally made it work (FX8350 here). You have to download the 64 bit folder that is around, put it beside the 32 bit folder (already there - within crysis folder) and then just run the game from Crysis.exe from the 64 bit folder. You don´t need to change names, updating or anything else. Hope it works.

i could find the 32 bit folder but i have a very occured problem. i was looking for the 32 bit folder and then i saw that some of the files got replacet by solid edge files (solid edge is a cad program by plm to make plans for all kinds of statik objekts).

Care to mention how you got it working? Stuck on the same problem. You never really told anyone what the fix was. Just saying that "It working - finally" doesn't help anyone in the future solve the problem.

So far I have downloaded the 64Bin.rar file, however instead of making a shortcut I put "-dx9" in the launcher options on Steam instead, without the quotation marks of course.

For me it randomly crashes, but only when loading a level or loading a save.
It crashes at the end of the levelloading, or just straight when loading a save.
