Some Crysis (1) questions I need help with answering
Bought Crysis 1 in the sale and am enjoying it so far. Just finished the mission where you save the 1st scientist..?? (I think it was).

1) Playing on 64 bit. I see many forums/threads/videos online and on steam here about people not being able to play Crysis 1 on 64 bit. Why is this for other people? It plays fine for me...64 bit. windows 8.1, gtx 760 graphics card, Intel i5..

2) The main primary weapon you are given at the beginning has no ammo after. I ran out of bullets within the 1st 15 minutes of playing and I have not used it since as I cannot find ANY ammo for it. Why is this? Where do I find it? I am currently using the (looke like) ak-47 that the enemies use and just pick up ammo from them. 2nd weapon is the sniper which I recently picked up.

3)Invisible. Its like the enemies can see me. I also have the indicator low (detecting) when not in danger and cloak. They still see me. why?

4) Killing enemies. From far away, it takes me nearly a whole round (burst fire) to kill ONE enemy. Its crazy. Especially its difficult to kill them if they are at turrets and are nailing me down.

5) Whats everyones screen resolution? And tips and tricks also? (I completed crysis 3 years ago and it was really fun. And I actually HAD ammoo for my primary weapon given to me at the beginning...:(

1) It's prolly a graphics driver / configuration issue which explains why the glitch is so widespread amongst differing machines.

2) I actually prefer the FY71 (the KPA "look-alike AK-47", as you refer to it), because it's the most versatile. I like having a suppressor, laser-sighting, grenade launcher, incendiary ammo (explosive rounds), and, when needed, a sniper scope ALL in one weapon.

From the Wikia:

FY71 is one of the most abundant weapons in the series. Almost all KPA soldiers carry an FY71 making ammunition plentiful and readily available. The FY71 is also the single most customizable weapon available. It can be equipped with all attachments for the rifle, including the flashlight, silencer, laser aiming module, tactical attachment, incendiary ammo, under barrel grenade launcher, reflex sight, assault scope, and sniper scope. The FY71 has medium range and a moderate fire rate, and is essentially a jack-of-all-trades weapon. The FY71 includes two colors, one is seen in Crysis, the color is completely black, in Crysis Warhead, is colored light green and black. Incendiary Rounds Incendiary Rounds are a powerful upgrade to the normal rounds of the FY71. Each round creates a small explosion on impact, inflicting more damage than conventional rounds. http://crysis.wikia.com/wiki/FY71

3) Apparently, when they get to within a certain distance, they can see visual 'distortions' when you move slightly. They can also hear your footsteps if you're just walking (as opposed to crouching or crawling during movement). I've found that, by this time, it is normally too late to seek adequate cover, so it is best to avoid letting them get too close if you want to maintain stealth and avoid a firefight. This is especially true when playing on Delta difficulty.

It's quite possible to get through a phalanx of dozens of patrolling soldiers using a combination of the nanosuit and standard stealthy techniques, and never once triggering an alert or having to fire a single shot, even when playing on Delta. The approach to the KPA compound, where the first hostage is being held, is one example of this. Try moving through that heavily-patrolled forest without being detected on Delta. It's a worthy challenge...

4) Use laser-targeting and emphasize headshots. Even without incendiary rounds and a sniper scope, while playing on Delta, it is still quite easy. Remember: this is not a 'run and gun' type of game...

5) Screen resolution obviously will vary widely, so it doesn't matter. Tips and tricks? The only other ones I can think of at the moment are the following: always try to keep a FULL rocket launcher handy, if and when a KPA gunship shows up, and reserve it only for that. Use the grenade launcher for jeeps and such, instead. Also, always refill your grenade supply whenever you can find them, including the flash grenades. They come in handy in tight quarters sometimes.

Wow thanks for the answers! Really helped me a lot. By the way, the " approach to the KPA compound, where the first hostage is being held", there are mines all around the perimeter and like 7 turrets, so impossible to get past without killing guys in the turrets..? Or mayne I didnt search 360 degrees of the base..?

Also whats the point in them giving you the 1st weapon on mission 1 for you to later run out of ammo and find no ammo to refill that gun?

Re: Approach to the first KPA compound: this was the topic of a recent thread on this forum. It can be accomplished either by taking the waterfall route or by using the beach entrance. Last time I played through I tried the beach entrance, using a somewhat stealthy approach, even without the need to create a diversion first (e.g. blowing up the gas station). This entrance is also a lot closer to the school where the first hostage is being held, so you can afford to be somewhat sloppy and still make it in there for the checkpoint.

Re: First weapon: I believe you're using standard issue when you first start, so before long, you're going to run out of ammo, once you go behind enemy lines (they're not exactly going to have clips of your type of ammo lying around for you pick up, are they?) Just use my above recommendation to switch to the FY71 and all will be well (in fact, it's no accident the Devs made the FY71 the most versatile, most customizable weapon available. They probably expect you to use it...).

I've read here that some people have had success running it with Win 10 and some not. My suggestion would be to scan the threads here for the standard solutions. As I mentioned earlier, it's just a graphics driver / configuration issue and not a bug in the program itself...

In regards to the ammo for the SCAR... if you do like Ѕσjδμгиеŗ says and play carefully, use single-fire mode, and ALWAYS go for the headshot, you shouldn't have much trouble keeping it stocked, even in the early levels.

Don't forget, every time one of your nanosuit buddies dies, they drop theirs on the ground. For example, when you find Aztek's body early in the game, don't forget to grab the SCAR on the ground beneath him. In the next level you'll find more ammo on Jester.

If you're going in full-auto, spraying and praying, then yes, you'll definitely run out quick. Particularly in the first couple levels. Without spoiling too much, later on in the game you'll have even more allies along with you that you can scavenge ammo from, so it becomes much less of an issue.
