Crysis FPS Fix at 1920x1080 24hz
Im sure this has been posted before but I'm posting it as it will be more recent...and I had this problem for 2 weeks didn't want anyone to go through it as it's an awesome game and it's frustrating.

If your running crysis and have recent system specs (And if games like far cry 3 run flawlessly) all you have to do is hit alt/enter and go back until your monitor says 60p instead of 24p. i have to do this about 5 or 6 times but it will eventually go to full screen and the frame rate is silky smooth.

Glad it helped, even if it was one year later. :) Have fun!
Thanks. Because the game was not jerky and seemed to be running fine I thought MSI Afterburner was reporting wrong numbers. I did the alt-enter keystroke and now the game is running at a steady 113 fps. I'm running the stock 32-bit executable. No need to fiddle with the 64-bit .exe. for me.

Disabling V-Sync also seems to solve this.

it does...but even on power house machines if it's running at 24h it will be choppy

i press in game or menu Alt+Enter to windowred and Alt+Enter again for fullscreen to arrive at 1080p 60hz

Yeah, I have to do it 3 times, I usually just do it 3 times quick during the splash screen

This post... is still helping people... it worked.... why did it work?!?!? My monitor has 2 modes 76Hz and 60Hz so of course crysis would only sync to 60hz for whatever damn reason. Tried everything else... nothing but this works?! Waited till it got to menu and hit alt+enter a few times and its now running at 76 just fine after cycling itself through windowed mode a few times?! . and yes as everyone else said had to do it a few times so dont rush it. no idea why this works :S

either force highest refresh rate from nvidia drivers (have to disable fullscreen optimisations on .exe), or delete the 24hz refresh rates with CRU

i noticed having my Xbox 1 controller plugged in (not for this game) as soon as I unplugged it, started running good.

It's actually easier to use CComrade's C1 launcher to fix this. Only the latest version (v3) and v2.7 has the fix. It also removes the intro videos and fixes other problems and bugs that plagued the old exe. It works for both the 32 bit and 64 bit launcher. After replacing the old exe with his version, my refresh rate synced to my framerate (I capped it at 63), especially since I'm using a 165 Hz Freesync/G-Sync monitor. For monitors without Freesync, it should simply use the highest refresh rate that your monitor allows (so if it's 60 Hz, it SHOULD show 60 Hz instead of 50 or 24).

There's a (free) program called Custom Resolution Utility, you can remove all the display modes you don't like at each resolution, like 24Hz etc. You should only have to do this once and the game should not have this problem again.
