Si, I've just installed my years old retail copy of the game only to be greeted by 24hz lock (I'm using HDTV as my monitor).
I've searched online for about an hour now and I haven't found any working solution (it was also the case in Crysis 2 a while back but I've easily fixed with with alt=tabbing it a couple of times).
For Crysis unfortunately nothing worked.
The most common solution I've found was to use a custom resolution, the problem is though that I haven't seen an option for that in Nvidia control panel for at least 3.5yrs now.
How did you make a custom resolution then if it's missing from the GPU's control panel altogether?
Thanks in advance for help.
2: Click On Nvidia Control Panel
3: In the display settings click Change Resolution
4: Under Resolution list there's a customize Button click that
5: Change Horizontal Pixels to (16/9 apsect ratio) 1916 60Hz make sure is also set to progressive in scan type
6: Click Test
7: Click O.K you should now see the custom resolution at the top of the resolution list
8: Should now be able to select you're custom resolution in game and it should run at 60Hz
You probably know a lot of that but thought I would go through the whole thing for others who may need help.
I can show you ont twitch if you still have an issue channel name N3CRON_99

I actually googled it and 3832 by 2160 works
You can solve this and also solve the ram issue the game haded easy.
1: Open your NVIDIA control panel.
2: Switch from global options/propertys to programm options/propertys
3: Add the Crysis/Warhead exe from the Bin64 folder.
(you find the folder in your Crysis/Warhead installation folder. Dont choose the 64exe in the Bin64 folder just choose the exe in the Bin64 folder because there are 2 and the "regular" exe is for 64!) With this exe your system can now use up to 256 gig ram and with the 32exe it is only able to detect 4 gig and able to use 3 gig.
4: Now turn off the vsync in your NVIDIA Crysis/Warhead propertys or set it to fast.
5: In the NVIDIA control pannel (programm propertys for Crysis/Warhead) you set the max frame frequency and the background apps frequency to 120 fps. (its just at 120 fps during you run the game) Older games like Fallout 4 and so on runs best in 120 fps because more could crash the game.
6: Make a shortcut to your Desktop from the exe in your Bin64 folder. Also you can add this exe to your steam library and lunch the game now from the shortcut or from your steam library.
7: Lunch the game. If you have disabled vsync in the NVIDIA control pannel then also disable it in the game. If you have set it to fast like me then enable vsync in the game.
8: You can open the console in Crysis/Warhead by pressing "^". With the command: r_displayinfo = 1 you can check your fps and what system version you run (32/64). Enter r_displayinfo = 0 to disable the showen infos again.
My Crysis runs now in 1920 x 1080 at 120fps. In loading areas it drops for a 1/10 second to 90 fps. You can check my public screenshots from the game. In the right top corner it shows the steam fps counter.
Also what can help is that you let make the PhysX from your CPU. Both of my GPUs are for rendering and the CPU is doing the PhysX work. Im just saying if you run a SLI setup or if you have a strong GPU card. Mostly games not using all of your CPU cores so let the CPU do your PhysX.
The Alt+Tab solution works... but this is not the professional way. Its I would say suboptimal. Set your settings like I have explained and you will be fine.
Even in times of Cyberprank 2077 it is still worth to play Crysis/Warheead because its one of the best games and still looking awesome.
