Error 1642 when applying patch 1.2.0

The steam executable is 1.1, so I know Steam is not pushing this patch. When I try to run it, I get error 1642, anyone have a fix for this? Thank you.

From what I gather looking at google and finding similar threads. It depends on the patch, essentially different versions of the game, need different patches as the exs's are slightly modified, so the steam version would need a steam specific version of the 1.2.0 patch.

Though one does not exist for the steam version, as it would already be on steam, if you see my point. (though its really down to EA wont add the patch, not steam itself).

install patch 1.1 then 1.2 then 1.21
