HOW TO GET CRISIS TO WORK 2020*****
So it took me a couple hours to find this and watch a few videos and read some articles but here i found what worked for me and unfortunately you do need WARHEAD expansion which as of this post both are on sale for 10$ if not you can probably find this on G2A and snag it there for cheap. here is the title for the video and i'll link the URL as well. hope this helps if anyone is interested in getting the game to work and kill some stuff :)

Windows 10 is so perplexing to me. Based on the forums, the same games may or may not work on the system. What is the reason for that? Kinda like how for me, Crysis ran on my Windows 10 machine, right out of the gate. The only thing I had to do was use GeForce Experience to run the game using my GeForce instead of the built in card. But then other games that say they work on Windows 10, such as Mushihimesama and Death Smiles, do not run on my Windows 10 PC, even though it's listed as a supported OS. Weird.

honestly its because windows is effing trash and always has been. Also people would get way more power and have far less problems if linux was more widely supported by commercial Devs

will this method allow Crysis Warhead to launch and play without any differences? I just bought Maximum Edition today and found Warhead works fine but Crysis does not.

I am running Ubuntu 20.04 + Proton enabled for all Windows games.

This CRYSIS is weird one. I have multiple systems and only old Intel+Nvidia(?) combo seems to working just out of the box (with some Proton %command%)

AMD cpu+gpu systems: No Results
I have tested multiple guides, versions and settings. Still just black screen when starting.

CRYSIS WARHEAD is a different story. It runs every system with every hardware combo just like it should be. Press PLAY to play.

i don't know a lot of about that but if you have the access to the same files i would think it should still apply if thats the case. if not it may be an nvidia problem? If you have tried the AMD cpu and AMD gpu and still still not. you probably should wait for the release of the remastered. Have you tried going over to ** Linus tech tips** forums and see if anyone knows anything there. thats where i go if i have issues i can't figure out on my own if you're really dedicated to get it to work id recommend that.

-good luck

Finally CRYSIS is working on my AMD cpu LINUX system.

Basically all the info was on the original video but the most difficult part was getting tilde ~ key working inside game.
If system is running non US keyboard [ ~ ] is not working and loading first level manually is impossible.

Solution for this is type on Linux terminal:

setxkbmap us

Now console is opening / working in Crysis and first level can be loaded manually.

specs:
Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS
Ryzen 5 2400G
16gb ram 2933 MHz

Thanks
