I contacted EA through live chat and they needed to activate it for me, then I could play through Origin. Don't download on Steam, you won't get past the registration key screen, you need to use Origin

That was one of the many methods I'd tried yesterday and it didn't even work. The Origin method was the last effort before I said 'screw it' and gave up on the game all together. I've seen so many posting this method randomly among the threads I decided might as well post at least one that's a solution page that could help some people.

What if I want to launch the game from steam.

Add a non steam game and link it to your Origin directory for Crysis.

None of this worked for me. What did work, was putting the cd key into Origin. my game library>add a game>redeem product code. EA seems to want to block anything from Steam even if it's in the steam store.

This is what my original post said to do. You copy the key from Steam and use it in Origin.

EA stopped supplying CD keys due to EA Play exploit.
You can use c1-launcher[github.com] to bypass the activation.

Come on EA should be able to fix this. Can't they just setup a temporary key system

I saw someone here had the same problem as myself. "Requesting key" and stay that like forever, it was able to show the Key, but i was stuck on some .exe before, so i never finish going pass the CD key.
