Update: I got it working with this:

Originally posted by FPS Crossfire:
I tried the 64 bit patch offered from dropbox, it did not work for me. I had a thread on a fix that made the game playable...

"I just fixed it! I tried the patch from http://dl.dropbox.com/u/71527378/Bin64.zip and contrary to popular feedback, it did not work for me. It crashed at launch, even in compatibility mode! I also tried a securom removal tool from https://support.securom.com/removaltool.html

If this fix does not work for you, try those attempts first.

You will need Crysis Warhead, If you cant launch Warhead this probably wont work for you either. I just copied the Bin64 folder from Warhead to the Crysis folder, and ran Crysis64.exe.

I couldn't start a new game directly, it shows the intro about how uber the suit is, and then it has a black screen for me. I had to hit the ~ key to open up the console and set the console cvar con_restricted to 0, and afterwards type "map island" to start the campaign.

It might be buggy, but its about time it works!

I am currently running Windows 10, Hope this helps."

Original post - I believe so. When I installed the first time it took over an hour and punkbuster never stopped the installation process. So I cancelled it and I don't know if that is what is causing my crash as start.
The bin64 file download has a file called crysis and if you mouse hover it will say securom.

Just installed this game yesterday. It didn't require any further activation and on win 10 (x64) the 32-bit executable works without any hassle.

just did a quick search and found this http://activate.ea.com/deauthorize/
they list crysis warhead but not crysis?

with the key steam provides you can even activate + play the game on origin

yes i knew about that but since they only provide it for crysis warhead it doesn´t help much

I read (can't remember where) that warhead is fine- without this drm 'on disc', that it was only the Steam copy that has it now. Not sure if true, but if it is, it gives you a better option. (I'm old school, I prefer discs anyway ;) ).

I thought the Steam version didn't have SecuROM on it. Ugh... maybe I'll get the GOG version instead then since it's on sale there... they don't tolerate stupid SecuROM there.

It doesn't. It was removed in 2023, now it runs from the same binaries as the GOG version.

why did they wait until 2023 to remove that ♥♥♥♥?

man GOG is a much better store than stupid lazy steam who keeps selling inferior/broken games

even in 2024 you try launching vanilla Crysis 1 on steam and it will crash

where did u find that info from? steamdb? can you post a link so i can see

so you're saying crysis 1 on steam currently has no securom and that when it says "Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: SecuROM™" on the store page, it's not true?

They added Bin64 and deleted/replaced some Bin32 files, which they just copied from the GOG version. If you have Crysis installed on your PC - look at Crysis.exe properties and you'll see a GOG digital signature on it.

As for the store page - they probably just forgot about it.
