Crysis
2017 100% Working Fix For Crysis & Crysis Warhead On Windows 10
This First Method Requires That You "Own" Crysis Warhead.
About half an hour ago I purchased Crysis(Steam), Crysis 2(Origin), Crysis Warhead(Steam), and Crysis 3(Origin). I have yet to test my Origin downloads but neither Steam version would launch. I was getting really upset as I had purchased these games from a Third Party Source. No matter what patches I tried to download or anything of that sort fixed Crysis. So I tried launching Crysis Warhead, same freaking error! Checked the files in Warhead and was surprised to see a "Bin64" folder! I Immediately double clicked on the 64bit application and the game launched! Praise Gaiben! After closing the game and attempting to launch it again via steam it wouldn't so...

METHOD 1)

For Crysis Warhead:
1) Download Both Crysis & Crysis Warhead
2) Open the folder where Crysis Warhead is installed
3) You'll see a Bin32 folder and a Bin64 folder
4) Delete the Bin32 folder
5) Rename the Bin64 folder to Bin32
6) Open the new Bin32 folder
7) Delete the "Crysis" application
8) Rename the "Crysis64" application to just "Crysis"
9) Crysis Warhead Now Works!

For Crysis:
1) Right click and copy that new Bin32 folder you made for Crysis Warhead
2) Paste it into the Crysis install file (replace the old "Bin32" file with the new one from Crysis Warhead.
3) Crysis Now Works!

METHOD 2)

I Haven't Tested This But This Should (But It's NOT Guaranteed) To Work

1) Go here: http://www.crytek.com/games/crysis/overview/download
2) Download "Crysis Patch 1.2"
3) Run it
4) Let us know if that worked lol

Nah, second method doesn't work. The patch exes (1.2 and hotfix 1.2.1) simply crash with some error "1624". That's the first time I ever saw a patch itself crash. And first method I can't try because I don't own Warhead and frankly don't care about playing it. I somehow have an hour of playtime in Crysis 1 which means I could launch it before but not anymore. Steam is such garbage, honestly.

Could you maybe upload those binaries as a sort-of unofficial patch? It's only a couple technical files so it's not a violation of anything.

It stopped working for me, but saw a post in another thread and put this in my launch options:

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start "" /affinity FE "G:\Program Files (x86)\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe" %command%

Works for Wrahead and Crysis 1

Thank You Rust! Great Post!
still looking for solutions ... have anybody found something ?
I have a problem. The second method does not work on my computer and I don't have crysis warhead. Any other ways to get it to work?
This might be a dead thread but I'm having issues, Method 1 worked for Crysis but now Warhead wont even boot? So weird. I did exactly as you said
Hey sorry I don't / did not have time to look through the whole thread but does these methods also work if you own Crysis and Crysis Warhead on Disc / DVD and not from Steam or Crytek ?
thank you so much i was heavily disappointed when warhead wouldn't start but your method works

This method worked great for me. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=342223706

after trying a lot, this worked for me, i downloaded the zip he provides, copied the bin64 folder files into the bin32 folder of my crysis installation. Tried first by clicking the exe in the folder.worked fine and went to the 3 or 4th checkpoint in game before saving and exiting, then tried clicking the steam shortcut on my desktop it too seemed to load fine and took be to menu/load game screen,. SO, I'm assuming and hoping now I can play it fine.
IT WORKED!! Hey, bro! Thank you for this info! I love this game (both games). I had to make one adjustment (well, two) on top of the information you provided in your post.

Anyway, after following your instructions it didn't work right away. When I checked the 'Compatibility' the .exe files on my system was listed as running on "Windows Vista". So, under Compatibility, I decided to choose "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) for the following two .exe files (runme.exe and Crysis.exe). Boom!!! Both games worked when I hit play. Thanks again! I plan to put a ton of hours into these games...finally. Now that I have a rig that handles whatever it (Crysis 1) dishes out. 11 years later! Hey! Better late than never! Lol!
