Difficulty settings
Will there be different difficulty settings that you can play the game when you are a casual gamer? ;)

where are the good old days when you could enter iddqd (god mode) or idkfa (all ammo) when needed. i would like to see an easy or story mode - it's a shame when you buy games and fail at the first boss :-( that happened to me with "no rest for the wicked". make games accessible for noobs too ;-)

If they put that settings in this game their target audience will probably not buy this game.

Lol what...? Don't know what the "target audience" is but when you want it hard, play on the highest difficulty and everything is fine...

Every game nowadays should have difficulty settings so people can scale enemies down when they are not able to beat the game so the game is accessible for a wide variety of gamers.

I really don't see why games should have only one difficulty level for the pro's...

I too think a difficulty setting should exist in every game. That way, everyone can play the game how he likes and depending on his ability and skills: leave the default difficulty, or lower/raise it, depending on the challenge level you want. I really don't see the problem in having such settings: it's not like asking to lower the overall difficulty.

Any news on that topic?
In the latest preview release there are sliders for enemy health, damage and player stamina costs.

The game will have several difficulty settings to allow you to play Mandragora at your preferred difficulty level.

Will there be any achievements related to difficulty settings?

I think if you have difficulty settings you should incentivise people to play on hard, better percentage loot drops or the like, having a generic slider is just poor in my opinion

Doesn't look like it according to an Xbox Achievement tracking website. Should be good to play whatever difficulty you're looking for.

What a shame... Hopefully the game encourage the player to pick a higher difficulty setting, (Rewards) or else this completely ruins the purpose of the game for me, and makes me not want to buy it.

I dont mind either personally but I do see why some do. Games like the souls series or even old classics like ghouls and ghosts, ninja gaiden or battletoads were not only great games but were famous for their difficulty. If they had easy option the games would be nowhere near as famous or notorious. Sure you can MAKE it hard but thats not the same as a game being middle finger F you hard by default with no way to make it easy. There is something to be said for everyone being on the same page and struggling through the same difficulty with only player skill separating each other. Some players will be far better and have an easier time while others will need to put in the work and practice to get better. I know I for one find it sometimes best when I am forced to meet the difficulty on its level to pass the game as opposed to simply lowering the difficulty. If the option is there I might take it as the path of least resistance is what most people will gravitate toward but remove that option and I am forced to get better which feels amazing. I personally dont mind too much either way but I often prefer just a tough game with no other option like in the 90s. Feels amazing to complete it. No option to lower the difficulty removes that temptation when frustrated lol. All this said I am pretty sure this game will have diff settings in its full release version anyway. I am excited. Its a great demo so far so its an easy day one for me.

I’m late to this thread but I do agree. There should be an added difficulty setting in all games. I understand souls-like it’s kinda its own genre, but I can only imagine a crap load of more players would purchase souls-like. I’ve played a handful of souls-like games and half way through, I just couldn’t do it. Not sure if it’s because of so many years of gaming, I’ve finally gotten gamer burnout, my age or just converted into a full blown casual. lol Either way, I would love to play a lot more of these projects on normal settings. You have to dedicate a ton of hours and that’s time I don’t have, as I work full time. These souls-like producers sure know how to create beautiful environments. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. I’m happy I’m not the only one alone on this. 🫶
