You are a genius, sir. Forgot that vampires dont like light so much. I did throw like garlic and onions at him, but that didnt work.
Just beat him first try under the stupid windows)
Could run through the human form flawless. Bat form always brought me down. Once the invisible grabs/bites started, it was a wrap.
Read this tip and immediately beat the boss on the first try.
You're a genius. Don't know why I didn't see it sooner, especially since the main character makes a remark about how the sun is rising as you make your way through the castle.
Thank you.
You literally just changed that fight from impossible to easy peasy for me. If I wasn't dumb I might have considered that a vampire doesn't like light.
Yes, I read about the light trick but what is coming through the windows does not deserve the name "light". That has to be MUCH clearer! And why is he not affacted in any other attacks? Then he can step into the light without problem?? Where is the sense in that?
Everything but window sections goes pitch dark while he's telegraphing this attack.
How much clearer could it be?
I got hit more times from the non-shadowy grab because I kept miss-timing my roll.
2nd phase easy
attack from the celling - just evade
he spams attacks - run away
he goes in shadows - run to the light and he ll appear nearby with a window to strike
repeat
I mean, I agree. Dont get me wrong, there are a lot of bad design choices in this game. But with that being said
The second phase of the vampire bat is a gimmick fight.
I think this is somewhere proving that critical thought and media run parallel rather than intersectional for SO many people these days.
It was pretty obvious when the VAMPIRE boss turns invisible and the screen goes dark minus two practically neon SUNLIT windows that there might be something about them that's important. It took about a half second to recognize.
The problem with that is, those windows, the lights, have absolutely NO EFFECT on the boss at ANY OTHER POINT in the ENTIRE FIGHT. They dont slow him down, they dont dot him, they dont daze, stun, or stagger him. They are literally window dressing on the fight up to that point. In fact, the boss can simply jump into the window light and attack you at any other point in time during the battle.
A SINGLE ATTACK is the only thing that utilizes this gimmick, and its an attack that is otherwise unavoidable, and does MASSIVE damage.
Now if the light could be used for other things, maybe to adjust the other attacks. Make him fall instead of slam, make his orbs disappear, make his invisible dash get stopped, cause his bat swarm to get dispersed. Something, ANYTHING to let players know that the light is not just decoration, but a mechanic.
But it doesnt. Its a single attack gimmick.
