Forest Giant
If this boss is any indication of what to expect, I'm dreading future side-bosses. Took me 50+ attempts. A 2d game where things can root you with nearly every attack, or bleed you, or poison you is a nightmare. lol

I think forest giant is bugged. The root attack literally one shots me, it seems to be doing multiple instances of damage. If it wasn't for that attack he would be first try.

He's almost one of the easiest bosses in the game. Jump on root, dodge opposite of the closest bomb, combo him, and done. It took me 3 times max as a Druid

Yeah, almost every attack from this guy roots you or stuns you and thats the kiss of death.

I think maybe he's easier if you are a ranged class? Melee feels impossible right now.

It's possible but I basically grinded levels and bought a ♥♥♥♥ pile of healing. I'm still rocking only copper stuff and the beginner sword. It was tedious as hell.

Clearly a skill issue and doing something wrong if you only have starting weapon and copper armor.
Agreed that the ground (thorn into bomb) attack seems unbalanced. It is possible to avoid it but jumping right after his club hits the ground, then position yourself equidistant between the bombs. The balance adjustment is needed on the damage the wave of ground thorns does. It triple hits and “one shots” me, and I’m lvl 30 with plate armor.
imagine this is the last boss in "Dark ale" quest lol. (entropy version)
no potions, no spells. u drunk and heavy and all u got its freakin empty pot 2 fight LMAO

Like any boss its doable after practice and learning its patterns. The root is entirely avoidable if you anticipate it. I beat this as a melee dagger class. I t did take me about 5 tries but its doable.

Sounds like you're just there earlier than you need to be if that's your equipment.

The attack where he rams is clumb into the ground and a root wave spawns hits me in the air. It either spawns exactly where i am, so i do not see it coming to jump or when it does not spawn under me and i jump over it it still hits me as it it is so wide that i cannot fully jump over it

the root wave is the problem. jumping seems to not be enough to avoid it fully. If the wave hits me full it one shots my 621 hp in plate. If i jump it still rips 1/3 of it.

And often it spawns directly under me, so i cannot see it coming. If i jump immediatly when his club hits the ground it doesn't spawn under me and instead the wave hits me when i am landing.

Everything else on this boss is easy. i do not get hit by anything but this wave and most of the time it one shots me.

well they do have very obvious patterns if you just learn them. My best advice is, jump.
The stomps you can jump + attack every one of them, and the big slam you have to dodge roll through him twice or he will turn around and slap you.
