Why is this game free?

What's the catch here... I almost smell an in game shop somewhere...

it's a card game... you can pay for some cosmetics, packs, random bundles that include both and there is a seasonal battle pass sort of deal that has a free and paid tracks, you get daily quests you can work towards that will give you in game currency and exp towards the battle pass tracks. It seems like it's relatively F2P friendly from my initial impressions.

It seems friendly yeah. The only worry is that the battlepass seems to be really expensive but that's without taking free premium currency into consideration.

Battlepass, cosmetics, and most important, compatible with mobile. People will buy that, history doesnt lie

typical F2P game things but like it's really not a major problem imo because personally I almost have the ability to build any deck I want and it's not like I started playing as soon as the game came out in EA which for me is basically a first because I usually don't build a large collection in CCGs and instead quit after the first couple of months only to never want to go back later due to lacking resources after building a starter deck

Not sure if you all realize this is a card game. If you check ALL card games from Hearthstone to MTGA to pretty much anything in this genre has a shop where you buy packs. Its the essence of this type of game. You getting 11 packs for free isn't enough? If you like the game buy packs, if you don't like the game well its free you lost nothing move on.

honestly such games as these probably just need to be free, because I mean... the game was paid a long time ago whenever it was in a wildly different state for which I never played that version myself and can only assume almost no one played. Early Access also didn't have as many players as now. Put the game on mobile and you get many times more players tho and that crowd is used to free with transactions.

There's another word for a game that sells you pixels that you can't sell and it's called a scam especially a card game . It's like a mobile game basically same tier of rip off

well this actually is a game available on mobile, so... but I'm not sure that automatically means scam as much as it isn't hard to find a decent number of mobile games who certainly have turned greedy before and burned their audience and stuff

i did buy alot in C&C1 ,iam happy i try first C&C2 and sdesided to delate it 1 one was al not balanced so why i would spend if this one is even more not balanced ,playing against players that sumon 1 monster that on that same card spawn more big monsters that you can't beat ,or monster that change the battlefield that spawn every turn a new monster ,how balanced is it when you not get thous cards ,no wonder that there are so low players in this game lol
