Aguni Boss
Hi, is there any guide or help for the Aguni boss somewhere? I watched some playthroughs on Youtube for this boss but after trying this fight about 30 times I actually still have not a single clue what is going on.

I'm level 25 and I hardly do damage to him. In this tempo the fight would last more than an hour if I wouldn't die.
Sometimes I get the 'bleed' status which is almost instant game over since I can't heal fast enough while bleeding.
What exactly gives me this bleeding status - I have no clue.

I understand I have to hit his eye, but he has these spinning orbs/flames around him so I can't get near his eye.

If anyone could point me out what I'm actually supposed to be doing here I'd really appreciate that :)

Got him, switching from a sword to the lightning rod helped a lot. Also doing a special attack and then immediately heal helped, since you can't get hit during a special attack.
Still feels like I gimmicked my way through this boss while not really understanding what was going on though.

there is an item to remove bleed, which is fast enough to heal between damage ticks.

even if you use posessions to dodge damage without a special skill you still get the status effects.

the fireballs are destroyable, even if they dont have a healthbar

you used the easy way to kill it.
but that boss is the most discussed in this forum, cause alot of people are annoyed or struggle. you are not alone.

imo the boss is a knowledge check which feels very spongey if you dont understand it, its really not about skill fighting him.

Aside from having a ton of HP, as you noticed, the thing that makes this boss tough is that only damaging the central eye actually hurts the boss. The orbs moving around it block projectiles, have their own HP meters, and have a ton of HP; it's possible to break them, but getting through all of them takes a long time.

The best way to kill him is to use piercing attacks, like the staff of lightning; you can also hit him by throwing your weapon (which is easier with a two-handed weapon), and some possession skills can pierce through the orbs, although you don't have a lot of options at that point. Also, after he switches to his second phase, the orbs no longer hurt you when you're touching them, so you can move in close and directly attack the eye.

Otherwise, yeah, this guy is usually considered to be the most frustrating boss in the game.

Cheers, I read the thread about it bus it didn't have any actual tips how to beat it :D I was stuck for a long while before I beat it.
Do you remember which item removes bleed? Right now I'm fighting another boss who gives me the bleed status which is pretty much a guaranteed death.

Frustrating he was indeed.. I really don't get frustrated with games that easily, got all achievements in all of the Souls games which also have some pretty annoying bosses.. but this one became frustrating because unlike Souls bosses I didn't feel I learned anything from doing it over and over again. After i beat him it felt more like I cheesed that fight :D

Hemostatic - alot of small red balls on a piece of paper, near your potions in inventory if you not filter items.

Ah perfect, that helped a ton, thanks!

Yeah, the boss itself is just a knowledge check. Namely, the check is knowing that enemy sprites almost never have hitboxes unless they're flashing with very few exceptions (you can count them on one hand).

The fireballs around him are one of the few exceptions to this, but they only exist on his first and third attack patterns. Once on his second pattern you can just stand on top of the boss and spam your attack chain and possessions until its in its second phase, or it hits the third attack pattern and its almost in second phase.
Vijayas are your friends here, but don't rely on them too much. On Hell difficulty they did around 2k dmg, and this boss has ~20k. Had 4 of them and managed to get the boss down to ~10k with some damage up front. Your best bet is to have a decent weapon you can charge and throw, to build up ST meter (and also stay away from the very damaging fire shield in Phase 1).

One you do, you have some options:
- If he's in the air and you can walk below him, use "Heavenly Spear" to damage the eye
- If he's floating "under" the platform, use "Cold Bullet" as the projectiles will fly downwards
- If he's level with the platform, use the "Thunder Spear" to invulnerability frame your way through him as you do damage or alternatively "Moon Spear". However, the last ability requires you to often be unnecessarily close to him to get in decent swipe attacks.

As for equipment, the Pegasus Feather Boots I'd argue are mandatory as this gives you much more room to walk on to the left, where the boss will never be (however will shoot at). You'd want something like the "Pheonix Shield" which has full resistance. Spec into attack and damage negation, and for Karon skills you'd want at least: "Dash", "Second Wind" and "Super Armor". Some wager for "Berserk", which triples your damage output but kills you in 1 hit. This is a risky strategy, but could be applied in the beginning phase as you don't lose much progress if you're unlucky. However, do switch it off for the second phase, as there are much more things that can damage you and be harder to perfectly guard against. Remember, it's 1 hit before game over.

In his last phase, the "Agnis Fury" will be your nemesis if you don't have a shield that blocks this properly. If you equip dash, this are pretty easy to dodge: Just stay near as "Agnis fury" is showing, and as you get the timing down on when the projectiles will shoot, run to the left where there's lava. The impact, nor the explosion will get you. Run back and rinse and repeat for this segment.

All in all, this fight took the better of 15 minutes on Hell difficulty as lv.22. If you're in "Bleed" status, use hemostatic or some instant health potions as they can be used before the debuff hits next, and can heal through the effect. They're expensive though, so try to keep the usages to "Bleed" situations only. I also suggest you Libra up some decent bleed resistance to help alleviate this. This fight is annoying, but not impossible.

Ah sorry for making you write that long reply - I mentioned in an earlier reply that I beat him :)
