Starfield - Nominated for BAFTA Games Awards - This thread have concluded (Zelda Won) Mods please lock.
As the title said.
Starfield has been nominated in a single catagory in one of the most respected awards for the gaming community. It was listed under the Tehcnical Achievement and below you can see a link to all nominations in all catagories and below that I will list the competition for Starfield in its one and only nominated catagory.

(Technically its the development team itself, that is nominated and not the game, this also means that all the outsourced developers, whom were 50% of them would have a stake in this)

TECHNICAL ACHIEVEMENT

ALAN WAKE 2 Development Team - Remedy Entertainment Plc./Epic Games

FINAL FANTASY XVI Ryota Suzuki, Yasuhiro Yanamoto, Kei Honda - SQUARE ENIX - Creative Business Unit III/SQUARE ENIX

STARFIELD Development Team - Bethesda Game Studios/Bethesda Softworks

Do you think Starfield will win? If not, what game do you think will win this catagory and what game do you think will win most overall.
Personally I think that Zelda will win this catagory and Alan Wake + BG3, will tie with most wins, but BG3 will be GOTY.

It will be interesting indeed.

Watch the Bafta here

The winner was
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: TEARS OF THE KINGDOM

Have a wonderful day all.

You have a pretty good track record on these predictions. If I recall, you nailed it with "Most Innovative Gameplay" award. I'll ignore my bias and put money on Zelda to win

How is that even determined ? I remember Leonardo Decaprio(or whatevero ;p) winning an Oscar for his least entertaining performance, I think it was because of alot of pressure from media and fans, which he probably alone initiated or his friends did to cheer him up ;p

Why the hell is a Zelda game that looks like a PS3 title doing on there? I can understand the other nominees, but not that one!

Starfield vs Zelda:TotK, yeah that's not even a fair fight.

My money would be on Alan Wake 2. Starfield is there out of pity I guess. Do they have a "Worst Textures in a AAA Game of the Year" category yet?

ToTK isn't anywhere near to being a technical marvel, though. I'm sure it's a fine game (not my cup of tea) but to call it a technical achievement? Hardly!

Yeah, this must be another troll award like the one from Steam.

One of the worst things about this game is how bad it is on a technical level. The game engine was dated when Skyrim was released.

Maybe it's going to win an award for the most loading screens ever
lumina Mar 15, 2024 @ 5:29pm
Respected awards? lol...

Every major award is paid for. Period. It's been that way for a long time. That goes for games and movies. Some of the awards for best indie blah blah blah are about the only serious ones you'll get, as most of them can't afford to pay for reviews and awards.
