Who likes the Grendel?
Why use the Grendel?
https://starfield.fandom.com/wiki/Grendel
Lowest dmg for any rifle. High ROF, High capacity magazines? All that means is you run through ammo faster than anything else and just peck on the surface. Is there some special modification combo that makes the Grendel special? Why do so many yt videos feature this thing?

If I found something like this (curtesy of Vlad), I might use it:

...but until then I'll stick to better rifles chambered in 7.77, such as this generic Beowulf and anyone can achieve with the gun bench:

That's an opinion. There is no right or wrong there. You don't like the weapons? Ok, that's fine. Me? I have a selection that go out of my way to collect, and use. I like 'em, and they work great for me.

I'd really love a commando perk like fallout 4 to add some spice to automatic rifles.
As it stands any semi auto rifle is just miles better in every way, since they benefit from Rifles+marksmanship+sniper, wheras any automatic that can fit a 2x scope can benefit from rifle+sniper perks, but the damage just isn't there.

The mag size vs enemy bullet sponginess makes Automatic weapons a disappointment in this game.

Grendel is for early game, and should be replaced with Beowolf, which is like a better version of Grendel and also uses 7.77mm. Same thing for Equinox, which is also for low levels and to be placed with Orion later.
The real comparison needs be done with quality level, that is when you get Beowulf/Orion without quality level, Grendel and Equinox already has quality level.

But if I remind well it's changing nothing for Grendel, and perhaps for Equinox too.

But no, it's not similar between Equinox and Grendel because at low level Grendel competes with Eon with quite higher damages and no auto using amo at a rate not manageable in first parts of the game. When Equinox competes with nothing, but it's possible that Orion spawns faster than Beowulf, I don't remind, at first play skipped weapons mods, and quoted Orion strength only at second play.

And about both, with full weapons mods the Orion is better than the Beowulf but eventually for feeling/sound.

Overall the thread still give an example of weak design of weapons, too many just become obsolete and rather fast.

If you want to kill stuff easy get a real gun, long range, high damage and - that is all you need really.

Correct, every gun in this game under powered and do live up to their real life counter part, Even if you max out your skills in weapons. Enemy AI are bullet sponges.

Do you guys see any contradiction in saying SF weapons are weak, enemies are bullet sponges vs the other side that complains SF is too easy, one-shot kill everything is no fun? Is there a rational explanation for this?

Enemies aren't bullet sponge, it's probably a comment related to elites with multi levels of HP/armor, like if they auto heal right before death.

It's many shots to kill higher quality/level elites.

The game would need a lot of work to setup a higher danger level in the shooting, but what's missing is one extra difficulty level making enemies more dangerous for damages and not with higher HP/armor pool.

And all guns aren't under powered, or then stick use only Grendels in a full play lol.
