Mods installed with Vortex not showing
Lots of the mods fail to work. I wanted a map with colored star names for example or quicker digipicking. Some mods work (round butt sarah or different outfits).
I just keep piling on mods and let Vortex do the problem solving as one mod overwrites another etc. As it should be. All automatic without editing ini files.
One major mod I want to use is the Millenium Falcon but the parts for it aren't showing up in ship builder. :(
WTF should I do?

You're not alone. Many of us have issues Vortex mods. I've almost given up on it. The only mod I have that seems to work no matter what is SkyUI. Another mod, isn't really a mod, the quick digipick is a set of console commands I automated with the ini file edit.

It's saddening since Vortex is promising and looks professional.
It also makes me negative to endorsing mods which do not show up in game.

Most of the problem is that for whatever reason, Bethseda changed the default location of the mod folder which messed everything up and made it harder than it needed to be.

I have vortex working fine now but it took awhile. If a specific mod is going wrong for you I'd see if its giving other people problems on its nexus page. That's usually how I troubleshoot.

Since I only use 4 mods, I would rather remove Vortex completely and install these 4 mods manually. I'm not confident that would work so I sit here and do nothing :\

Yeah, vortex linked itself to a new mod folder and keeps it updated. The weird thing is that some mods work whiloe others aren't seen by the game. I have SFSE etc installed and it keeps the mods text file updated with the links to the mods.

Does Mod Manager 2 have Starfield support? I hear some folks have better luck with that than Vortex.

Make sure you are checking all of the requirements
Staging folder on same drive as Game

Some are just BAT's you need to run through console (Avoid these)
Some require Plugin.text enabler. These are good. As close to CK we can get right now
Some further require SKSE (Plugins.tx does as do many others
A few require Address library

I personally did not have issues getting stuff going, but I can see it can happen

Depending on the mods that is generally ok to do, but if you ever want to change/update/remove, it can be annoying. Plus harder to manage conflicts. With so few though should be less of an issue.

What's weird to me is those don't work at all through Vortex, but if it do it manually, it works.

Go to the load order tab on the side and let it load up and check the list on what is missing.

Some of them require just running the BAT in game
Other require CCR (Command Console Runner) and need to be added to StarfieldCustom file in your Documents/Games/Starfield folder.
Most of the Mod authors are pretty good about detailing, others it requires checking the posts on the mod page

BAT's that add items are not a big deal. It is when they alter game values is when they become concerning. Unless you know what is changing and how to unchange it as needed.
