That red mile bug was supposed to have been patched out. I had it around launch but not since they said it was fixed.
I'm supposed to get the codes for the archives, yes. And I keep wondering why they would send some entirely unrelated, irrelevant and unqualified bystander instead of letting their well trained and well payed diplomats deal with it. It's their job, not mine. They are qualified for it while I'm not. It makes no sense whatsoever.
Anyway, I can't find the embassy anymore and don't remember exactly where it is. I guess it must be somewhere in New Atlantis and it doesn't seem to be in the MAST district ... It would help if I could get the quest marker to find the place.
The embassador was pissed even before I got arrested. And I'm still not invisible and probably still have no chance of getting the code. Even when I'm supposedly invisible, I'm always still being detected.
Besides, the whole backstory is extremely bad here. You can not expect players to have grudges against either the UC or the Collective or to even understand them because they had been fighting a war. That embassador is totally unsuited for the job she has and should have been fired 20 years ago right after the war ended.
I can't know that. It's not something that someone would carry around all the time.
Besides, it doesn't seem to be a good idea to murder her. I was explicitly told not to shoot anyone and doing so seems like a really bad idea. Imagine an archive that is guarded by France, the US and Spain and they all must agree to give you access before you can get anything from the archive. It so happens that the Spanish like and trust you for unknown reasons --- mind you, you don't even have Spanish citizenship and you have no relevant credentials --- and the Spanish already allow access, and only because one of their harbours was attacked by a party the archives may contain relevant information about. The US and the French deny access. They never heard of you and were not attacked at all and fear not an unknown attacker they don't believe in, but that access to the archive would bring about information that could endanger them.
Your 'solution' is to go ahead and murder the French and American diplomats who, strangely, happen to carry their keys to the archive always on their keychain which enables you to steal their keys in the first place. That these diplomats would be that stupid is rather difficult to believe.
Even if they were that stupid: what do you think would happen? That you could just walk into the archive and take the information you want? That's a ridiculous idea.
Whatever key you have stolen wouldn't work anymore a couple minutes after the first diplomat was murdered. If there were a chance you could still somehow get the information from the archive, the French and the Americans would make sure that it would be either moved out of reach or destroyed.
And that doesn't mention the diplomatic incident you would cause. For you all you know, another war might be started for this.
Try showing all active markers in the log might should you the one you need.
Which log are you referring to?
How do I know which quests are blocking me? I'm now trying to dock at the chop shop but it's not possible. After talking to the station we're supposed to dock at it, yet there is no option for docking and none for hailing them.
Or is this another buggy mission? I'm starting to think that Starfield may be as bad as Baldurs Gate 3 which is an unfixable mess that should never have been released before a complete remake.
Any of the Companion quests could do it. Not sure how to tell. You'd need to finish them one by one and see.
In the quest list at the bottom are some buttons that allow all or active quest markers to be displayed.
I gave only ever had Sarah's quest bug out but that was before the updates. The only other times I've had issues is trying to speed through the dialog and not let the system progress.
What you shouldn't do in Bethesda games is abandon quests and play other quests. At least that's what I learned in Fallout and it seems to apply to Starfield as well. You should keep one quest in focus and solve it.
If the OP can't solve these quests, then only console/queststage or NG+ will help.
Anyway, the FC embassy is straight ahead and then left when you leave the MAST. The map should help... and if you don't have a map, you're not playing the current version of the game... which I find weird...
I'm not aware that I would have a companion quest and that there are any.
When a quest is blocking others, that must be shown in the quest overview. Otherwise we only get stuck. How crappy is this game??
I'm not skipping. I have no way to tell which dialog option would mark a step as done.
The Starjacker quest is simply stuck where I'm supposed to dock at the Chop Shop after the guy we kidnapped talked to the station. The options for docking and hailing are not there. The 'friends like these' doesn't show any quest markers and I have no idea where the embassy is. The runaway quest cannot proceed because daddy isn't talking. The Entangled quest was also stuck and required me to clip through a wall because the NPC I had to talk to was unreachable behind a wall.
Maybe I could try to proceed with another quest but after three quests not working, what's the point? This game sucks badly.
